LisaRose, so upset at your loss. Please accept a hand to hold.
Condolences.
i found out this morning that my brother died last night, he was also an ex jw, 73 years old and died of heart disease and kidney failure.
it was not totally unexpected, as he had been in poor health, but it's a blow, especially as i just lost another brother two years ago.
there were six of us, now only four.

hi guys, don't know if this is the right place to ask but id like to hear other peoples experiences with raising kids in a household with split faiths.
just for a bit of a back story, my wife and i have been married for comming up 6 years.
we have 3 kids, 2 boys aged 5 and 3 and a 8 week old girl.
Hi OP,
Female exjw here. Bit of background, 32yrs+ in cult, married 41yrs. 2 daughters 35 + 33. Husband like yourself a non-believer and due to work tolerated meeting attendance and assemblies etc until they turned 16. I accepted this because I was convinced they'd come to love Jehovah. They didn't.
Mess of life. ( 2 daughters ). Suicide attempts, multiple sexual partners, alcohol abuse. You name it. I've shredded the t- shirt. I plodded on stoically. Bought the script from R&F etc. Fast forward. All 3 of us out. De-programming gradually.
We were chatting the other day and youngest said. " at least I only wasted 4yrs, and my older sister just 2". I was, hmmm. I ruined their emotional development from baby/toddler stages of life with the cult crap. I have to live with this in addition to my own struggle. They're happy they're free. "Get over it mum" attitude. Life's too short bla bla.
You just have to play this intelligently. Maybe your wife will discover TTATT.
just to say a big hello.
i have been reading this site for some time now and have been very unhappy with some of the things emanating from watchtower head quarters in new york.
the final straw for me is the upcoming watchtower study this weekend encouraging us to shun our own family members (our own mothers if need be) if they are disfellowshipped....a step too far for my liking.
this thread is for when you have to say something to get it out of the system, whether it is happy or sad.
my reason for stating the thread is that on occasion some threads do tend to get a little heated here, and maybe this thread will enable us to reflect on the important fact, we are real people and not just dots on a computer screen.. i would love to start the thread with a bang, but nothing of particular interest has happened, only i do hope the weather improves as the climate i live in has been sadly chilly for the time of year, (if you get the deeper meaning).

Well, I've had a vanilla week. Spent a whole day reading a thread on a forum about a person who faced a life changing dilemna. She'd been invited to the wedding of a lifelong friend. One of the group was a twice convicted peaodophile who's wife stood by him, and indeed had 2 children to him. It must have been bad because the authorities wouldn't let them live as a family. She was being harangued by the rest of the group for being too judgemental. She decided to cut of every one of the other 8 couples. It was strange reading the ongoing live thread, because it awoken something in me.
Right I'll get to the point of my post. I'm going to send in my DA letter after a 13mnth fade. This is what I've rumminated this past week. That and the fact that I want to vote for the UK to remain in the EU. And I refuse ti skulk around.
very handy little article that might clear up some muddle...

It's tagged onto the end of another post. Tha ks for starting this new post Koncept...I did wo der if it would go quicly lime David Bowie? Maybe not as anonymously, but not as much in the media glare as it could have been. He went up a notch in my estimation.
RIP Prince.
so, talking with my wife yesterday.
she was out cart witnessing (barf) and one of the people she was with claimed to have know prince, or meet him or something like that.
well anyways...they or her or someone (they are all braindoogled) speculated or fantasized that since prince did not have any relatives or something or the other.
David Bowie managed to get himself d3spatched out of the media glare. Maybe Prince will succeed too.
RIP Prince
i've left a couple of semi-"humorous" remarks, but not yet said a proper hello....but firstly thank you, to all, for this site and all its comments.i have been lurking on this site for 4-5 years, awake for 5-6 years and seriously fading for the last 4 years.
i am now "out" and widely considered "out" by the congregation but due being very cautious and playing a very long game, (and having a wife who understand the repercussions of blowing the whistle on the few viewpoints i have discussed with her) i have not been df'd of da'd.
this forum has been a crutch and guide as well as helping me wake - and the humour many on here use has been a welcome relief.
