solid stone is just sand and water, baby.
Mine came out as "Berilac Foxburr of Loamsdown"
And what about Fred Hall? Well...
that would be "Drogo Sandybanks of Frogmorton"
Jesus Christ comes out "Fosco Cotton of Overhill"
And last, but certainly least, George W. Bush = "Moro Chubb-Baggins"
Hah! I KNEW he was related to the Bagginses!

a friend of mine in new york just told me that the big tower logo on the side of bethel is no longer there.
instead, there's a giant neon sign saying "watchtower" and a digital clock.. how long has this been the case?
does anybody know why they got rid of the tower logo?.
I don't think it's changed. I work in Battery Park in lower Manhattan & it still looks the same as when I was a Bethelite in the mid-80's: the red "Watchtower" sign with the time & temperature is on top of their office complex at 25 Columbia Heights, about 6 blocks from the Brooklyn Bridge. The "Read God's Word the Bible Daily" sign is painted along the side of Factory Building #4(I think it's #4?).

XENU and MAVMAN:
While the METHOD of bilking people at the door for money changed in 1991, the RESULT is the same: WTBTS gets the cash - usually TWICE.
They are a multinational publishing company - not a real religion.
Thank you.

a large number of x-jws have agreed that the watchtower is a cult or cult-like.
our reading over the years after our exit gives us some appreciation for how cults work, even political type, like hitler's nazi party.
having lived in a cult environment, we were willing to die for that religon if necessary - to please jehovah - so as we once thought it would.. now, the arafat cult is booming in our faces: with all the peace accords presented and some accepted, such as the oslo accords, etc.
I heard Netenyahu (sp?) on news radio yesterday saying, "Arafat is just Osama bin Laden with good PR."
How true...

holy smokes: did moses and king solomon smoke pot?.
working in the publishing business has its perks, and one of those is getting to see new releases of books that sometimes never land in the bookstores.
today, i happened to be reading through some product literature that i had put off for some time and discovered a book that was published a few months ago about the usage of drugs in the bible.
NICE!
This sacred herb has been used in many forms for thousand of years - so smoke up! {

that's right....recommend a book...any book that would be a good read....... mine's is:.
invisible man by ralph ellison
"Moby Dick" - Herman Melville. The classic struggle of man versus the inevitability of the universe.
"King of the World" - About Muhammed Ali - can't remember the author, but I just finished it.
"The Time Machine" - H.G. Wells. MUCH better than any movie version.
"Battlefield Earth" - L. Ron Hubbard. Don't worry - you won't find any kooky Scientology stuff in Hubbard's sci-fi works (but it's easy to see how he came up the wacky ideas they promote). A real page-turner, which is good, considering it's over 400 pages long. Again, MUCH better than the awful movie Travolta did last year!
"Native Son", and "Black Boy" - Richard Wright.
"The Autobiography of Malcolm X" - Alex Haley
"The Souls of Black Folk" - W.E.B. Dubois
"I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings", and "The Collected Poems of Maya Angelou" - Maya Angelou

yhwh has a chosen people on earth today, regardless of whether those 6+ million souls under the auspices of the watchtower society are the same jehovah's witnesses referred to in isaiah 43:12, "i have declared, and i have saved, and i have showed; and there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith jehovah, and i am god.".
the question is, are you one of god's chosen people?
it may very well be that those referenced in isaiah 43:12 are not all inclusively jehovah's witnesses.. suppose they are scattered throughout the entire world "out of every nation and of all tribes and peoples and tongues" (rev.
