Our P.O. made a comment while conducting the book study that the Catholics shouldnt need a Pope to lead them if they truly followed the Bible. The Bible alone should be enough and not an imperfect man. I wondered that anyone who really beleives that is completely stupid as JWs doctrines, polices, procedures are dictated by the GB and not from the Bible. Its amazing how JWs dont use their thinking abilities. I cant believe how I use to accept everything from the GB as if it was from God.

so i would think everyone at bethel knows about the governing body's mishandleling of these matters.. i'm sure this, a long with the big new light about the governing body alone make of the faithful slave are causing many a lot of irritation and so are seeing these guys now in a different light..

Unfortunately Bethelites are extremely sheltered from any negative facts about the WT. I was there 6 yrs and never knew about Olin Moyle lawsuit, Beth Sarim, Leo Greenlees pedophilia etc. Most JWs are conditioned to avoid critical thinking and life away from being a JW is to be on Satans side even if the facts prove they are outright liars and false prophets. Also consider that leaving the WT means losing family, friends, marriage and the special feeling of being important.

The way to stop those elderettes is by confronting them and apply the 3 step process outlined in Matt 18:15-17. The OD book p. 147-150 approves of this when you're a victim of slander or negative gossip. Remain calm and talk about the matter. If they deny saying anything (most likely) tell them you will bring a witness and meet another time. This will scare the crap out of them and their elder hubby. Remain calm, do not say or do anything that will cloud the issue andgive them ammo to use against you. Slanderers in the Congs know that almost no one will confront them and thus enjoy abusing others.

why temporary?
is it a testing ground for circuit work or a "we dont want you on our payroll for good so we'll use up what you have to offer and dump you back into reg pio status when this definitely not-cushy assignment is over"?.

A couple from the new school were assigned to a foreign language congregation in our area and the Congregation has been providing them with food and housing. The branch imposes on the locals to support those brothers financially. They criticize you for running your business and getting an education but they are more than happy to benefit from your work.

Special Pioneer hours is 130 a month. I have been told by SP themselves that the branch now tells them to work at least 2 days a week to complement their stipend. The society has cut the monthly stipend by 20% according to my sources. This reduction is for central america. I dont know if they did the same for the U.S. A couple from the b

Assembly Talks... Are these assigned based on the thickness of the envelope?
by Calebs Airplane infrom talking to several fading jws over the years, it really does appear that assembly talk assignments are usually given to those pos who consistently hand over the thickest envelopes to the co at the end of his week-long visits.
if the envelope was too thin (or there was no enevelope at all), chances are that no one in that congo would get an assemby talk assighnment.
also, if the co and his wife were treated well or taken to expensive restaurants during their visit, that apparently increased the po's chances of getting an assembly talk assignment.

The C.O. assigns the speakers for the SAD and2 day circuit assembly. The branch assigns the speakers for the 3 day convention. I completely agree that green handshakes will not get you speaking assignments. It would be too obvious and the DO or bethel speaker would catch on quickly. In 2007 they started an arrangement where the COBE, school overseer, and the auxiliary couselor would grade elders in their Congregation from a-d in different speech qualities along with comments about family etc. Then that would be sent to the CO who in turn send to the branch.

I pioneered 20 yrs beleiving that all material needs would be provided. I got tired of always not having enough for a decent car, vacation, decent clothes and money to help out elderly parents. I finally realized that I srewed myself for believing that baloney that you just need to peddle literature and not worry about aquiring any practical skills. Ihave no one to blame but myself for being too naive. I now run my own construction business after realizing I dont want to be a useless, ignorant ,unskilled peddler.God gave us a brain and expcts us to use it by getting an education and learning a trade or skills to support yourself in a decent manner and not depending on miracles to eat.

jws will engage people that are ignorant of the bible and answer their questions. But if they encounter anyone asking difficult questions as previously posted , they will stop the conversation and label the person as an opposer. Ignorant people are easier to recruit and convince.
