i had no plans to turn up to the court hearing as an observer, as in my experience, it can take several hearings and a number of months before any court case gets rolling.
does anyone know if some elders have been relieved of their status in Australia lately?
The director of the Australian branch was moved to Poland just before the congregation elders got a letter telling them to comply with the law. This may or may not be meaningful. The timing of it is suspicious.

Gentle reminders, such as to 'never go beyond what is written' in the Bible (1Cor 4:6), may be helpful, since JWs do it on almost every subject.
The same idea is derived from 2Ti 3:16, "All scripture is inspired of God, and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness..." Witnesses hear this scripture all the time, but rarely apply it.
Much more emphasis is given to what the Governing Body says than the Bible, and the Governing Body itself is a concept that 'goes beyond what is written', since it is not found in the Scriptures.
Even though he will have to stick to the prescribed outline in giving the talk, you might be able to make inroads in getting him to think, and to see that Witness beliefs and concepts are sometimes not based on the Bible at all.

What is DPI?
In this context it is the United Nations' Department of Public Information. In 1991 the Watchtower Society became an NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) affiliate of the UN through the DPI. This is a clear violation of the Watchtower's neutrality stand, since the organization views the UN as one of the political beasts of Revelation and part of Satan's world wide political system. All political involvement is to be avoided by Jehovah's Witnesses, including snuggling up to the UN.
After this came to light, the Watchtower withdrew, but apparently Watchtower NGOs still exist under veiled identities.

There was a thread on here re that photo with Herd. Several posters noticed things that weren't natural about the photo. A few are
-The lighting on the other man is mottled, sunlight and shadow, but the lighting on Herd is very smooth, probably studio.
-Herd's head seems to be pasted in, not natural looking.
-Issues with the grass.
-The other brother's hand seems to be missing. To cover it, fingers are put in on Herd's right shoulder as if that's where his hand is. Also, they are way too close to be walking in service. No two men walk so close together that their bodies are virtually touching each other.
-There is an issue at the bottom of the brothers bookbag, something the Photosho artist didn't clean up. Enlargement below.

I was offered a job as a limo driver but the older ones told me it was not a good idea.
Who were you driving the limo for? A gang of bank robbers? If not, the older ones were probably making up their own rules.

The photo of GB member Samuel Herd in field service, published in the 12-15-11 Watchtower, is 100% fake. Signs of Photoshop everywhere.
Does the WTS do this to mislead us into thinking that the GB is taking the lead in all aspects of Christian service?
brother knorr is rarely mentioned in the awake or watchtower and i don't really know much about him.
is there a reason why brother knorr does not receive as much mention as brother russell, rutherford or even frantz?
can you help me understand why he was like?
Knorr was mainly an organization man. He expanded the preaching work of JWs greatly, as well as advanced so called 'Theocratic' education in the religion by starting a few schools.
(Going by memory, and I may be wrong, he started the missionary school of Gilead and the Theocratic Ministry School in the congregations.)
He had Franz behind him as the prophecy man in the organization. Franz was responsible for the 1975 understandings, which came during Knorr's administration. I see them as being a team, more so than any other duo in the organization.
witnesses say they are not allowed to share convention notes, bible talks, videos etc etc.
i am pretty sure they're literature says they can.
does anyone know of a watchtower magazine or other publication that says they are allowed to share such things?
