@ Terry,
I like this post.
Can you give us the source of the first article? And a publication date?
And what Watchtower publication is the small clip from, the one with the underlining?
Thanks.

Nicolaou,
I think you misunderstood. I wasn't looking for a debate, but was just wondering what you meant by the statement....it could be taken more than one way.
I will look at that link. Maybe I'll get the answer there.
visiting a nearby town during his thursday night service talk mentioned how poor meeting attendance is in the english-speaking u.s. congregations.
he said that when the gb reduced the weekly meetings from 3 to 2, there was a brief surge in meeting attendance percentages.
after a few months it began to slide and it hasn't stopped sliding.
"...the national average meeting attendance for English congregations is around 75% of publisher cards in the file."
I'm surprised it's that much. It was worse than that for years before I stopped attending, in my little town with 2 English congregations.
I remember in the pre-1975 boom, meeting attendance was always way over 100%.
"...push yourself to go even though you're dead tired..."
Push -- that's the problem. The Watchtower doesn't know how to lead. People are on to Watchtower misinformation, and they will only get wiser to it. As more people learn, meeting attendance will drop even more. Cracking the whip harder will only back fire.
coc was delivered this evenning and i will be jacking it the whole night.
i might write a review to refute ray's argument after the reading and btw, i will be away from here for some time.
let it begin.. .
@ Outlaw
The Doctors had never seen so many Paper Cuts.
That's terrible! Why can't I stop laughing?

Nicolaou said, I'd say that the first four words of the Bible are definately the biggest lie ever published!
"In the beginning God..." (Gen 1:1)
Are you saying there is no God, which is all the 4 words say?
Or are you going past the 4 words, and saying God didn't create things?
Not taking issue here, just trying to get what you meant.

I, and probably most here, would recommend that you read it with an open mind and open heart.
Sadly, the Watchtower disagrees.
@ LostGeneration. I liked your rebuttal too. I took the liberty of adding just a few more words to it.
Rebuttal:
Some believed Armageddon would come in 1914. It did not. Thus the prophecy of the WTBTS rang hollow.
Some believed Armageddon would come in 1925. It did not. Thus the prophecy of the WTBTS rang hollow.
Some believed Armageddon would come in 1975. It did not. Thus the prophecy of the WTBTS rang hollow.
Some believed Armageddon would come before the generation that saw 1914 passed away. It did not. Thus the prophecy of the WTBTS rang hollow.
Does anyone hear an echo in here?
oy.
the february 15, 2012 wt is out.
it has a huge mushroom cloud of fire on the cover.
...one dude has an arrow stuck in his back.
And another has a spear all the way through him. Such horrible scare tactics....what a wonderful, godly way to teach children.
we certainly don't want to allow watchtower the luxury of forgetting.

Could you explain the 48 year generation in a little more detail? I'm having trouble getting it.
Mt 1:14 says,
14 A′zor became father to Za′dok;
Za′dok became father to A′chim;
A′chim became father to E?li′ud;
I take it that each of these 3 groups represents 14 generations...?
