here's an older zion's watch tower quotation that i'm trying to verify.
take another line of prophecy: we find that the 1260 days, and the 1290 days, and the 1335 days, so particularly set forth in daniel's prophecy, and corroborated in revelation, have had fulfilments, the 1260 days ending in 1799.
" zwt, september, 1898.. that quote is found at http://www.watchtowerdocuments.com/documents.
Try spelling out the numbers to search for them.
This quote relates to 1799, the 1260 days (or years), and the "last days." Some of the numbers are spelled out,
(Creation, 1927, pages 293, 294, 295, 298)
“Napoleon began this Egyptian campaign in 1798, finished it, and then returned to France on October 1, 1799. The campaign is briefly, yet graphically described in the prophecy, verses 40-44; and its being completed in 1799 marks, according to the prophet's own words, the beginning of “the time of the end…” Twelve hundred and sixty years from 539 A.D. brings us to 1799, which is another proof that 1799 definitely marks the beginning of “the time of the end”.
"There are two important dates here that we must not confuse, but clearly differentiate; namely, the beginning of "the time of the end" and the beginning of the presence of the Lord. "The time of the end" embraces a period from 1799 A.D. to the time of the complete overthrow of Satan's empire and the establishment of the kingdom of the Messiah. The time of the Lord's second presence dates from 1874 and is during the latter part of the period known as "the time of the end."
“Twelve hundred and sixty years from 539 A.D. brings us to 1799, which is another proof that 1799 definitely marks the beginning of "the time of the end." From shortly after 1799, the date of the beginning of "the time of the end," we should expect to find an increase of knowledge, particularly with reference to the Bible.”

Breakfast of champions said,
I wouldn't bother even counting any of the countries with less than 100k pubs. Any increase/decrease is statistically unreliable at those numbers.
I agree. When I first reviewed the chart I noticed some very large and very small percentage numbers. Then, looking over at the actual number of Publishers, and the number that were added or subtracted for the following year, I could see why the percentage was so big.
When there are only a few Publishers an increase/decrease of 5, 10 or 20 people can make the percentages look huge, but they are not very meaningful.
seems like the original star trek was almost universally enjoyed.
from the kooky music theme 'space.....ahhhhh ahhhh ahhh ahhhhhhhh ahhh', the upbeat message, the deep subject matter...the chemistry of the characters.
you remember being much younger almost felt like not a care in the world?
I started liking Star Trek in re-runs. Then came the movies, which were great successes even though some of them weren't very good. Then the biggie, Star Trek: The Next Generation.
It holds up after all these years; good writing, good story tellling, imaginative plots. I feel it is one of the best television shows ever made.
As much as I liked the original show, now it seems kind of lame compared to TNG.
as many of you are aware the elders visited my sister and asked her (a non witness) to ask me not to contact my mother (a dedicated believer).. lo and behold, they went were angels fear to tread and spoke with my mother who in turn asked them to show her from scripture where a baptized person who was disfellowshipped and had it reversed was a threat to anyone?.
as far as she was concerned they were 'sheperding" (i call it fishing) and asked where i lived as they would like to contact me, hmmm a flight to the us would be theraputic.
she denied there request for the information.. they told her they were looking out for her spiritual well being.
You were disfellowshipped, but had it reversed. Was the disfellowshipping rescinded, or did you get reinstated?
Either way, why would the elders care if you talk with your mother?

The original graph had a mistake in it, a reversed axis (it was axis backwards... ). Ceders didn't really revise is, just corrected it, and did it the way it should have been. He is the one who made the graph to start with.
Edit: Oops! I see Cedars is here. Now you've got the best answer of all.

crisis of conscience within the traralgon congregation of jehovahs witnesses?
part 2december 18, 2011 by sitepost .
Ts1969,
Maybe more will be written if there are convictions, but if the Watchtower wiggles out of it there won't be much to report. As you say, private prosecutions are often not taken seriously; probably because most don't have enough merit. If the prosecutors take this case over from Unthank it will be a big step forward.
I think most of us on this site are hoping for convictions and news coverage eventually. The case deserves it.
Oz makes a good point, it's just Jehovah's Witnesses, a small religious group in the world. If a reporting agency could aim the story more toward the child abuse angle, maybe it would sell. For us, we are looking at how bad the Watchtower is, but for the story to get the public's interest it might need to highlight the children's safety issues.

crisis of conscience within the traralgon congregation of jehovahs witnesses?

@Truthseeker1969,
I don't think there have been many news articles. These two are several months old.
the following table illustrates the extent to which watchtower sometimes goes in their interpretation of scriptures.
when i look at that table and the charts that follow, it makes me think of the word kaleidoscope.
i suspect we've all played with such a toy when we were kids.. kaleidoscope -- a constantly changing pattern or sequence of objects or elements.
Thanks for the chart. I like examples of Watchtower moving backward, flip floping, after their claims to never do it.
A side thought, Do you have page numbers for those references?
