Covid-19 (Coronavirus) - Status Update Thread
by Simon inthis topic is to focus on status updates & advice (no opinion or politics please).. status.
latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.
the incubation period means it may have already spread further and infected many more people than are currently known, so expect jumps in the numbers over the coming days and weeks.. tracking.

@ Anna Marina,
You said "Vitamin C with Riboflavinoids..."
Did you by chance mean 'with Bioflavonoids'? When I google it bioflavonoids keeps coming up.
If it's really ribolavinoids can you give a brand name?
Thanks in advance!

LV, It was broadcast on the Oxygen channel by my TV provider, which is Xfinity, a large cable company. There are other TV companies that also carry the Oxygen channel, AT&T being one (a friend is getting it there). Based on that I think the coverage would have to be nation wide in the US.
I'm not sure how the FOX tie-in works but if some FOX affiliates are picking it up that's even better.

So did this go out nationally in the USA?
Yes it did, but the Oxygen channel is a small cable channel, just one of hundreds I suppose. However the documentary was thorough, revealing, and excellent overall. It was so well done that it may spin off into greater coverage by other investigative sources.
It was a very good step in exposing the Watchtower organization for what it really is.

If that is truly the case, they must not have much confidence in Jehovah's ability to protect them against "evil spirit forces" while they do his work in that town.
Yes, it's odd how the Devil always seems to be more powerful than the Holy Spirit that is supposed to be guiding and protecting Jehovah's Witnesses.

*Maybe that have restated it. If any can find a reference, please post it. The latest Watchtower Library installed on my computer is from 2001.
Could they change their mind on this topic even if they wanted to? After all it's the Bible that says "For all the wild animals and for all the birds I have provided grass and leafy plants for food."— Today’s English Version, Genesis 1:30.
To acknowledge that animals have been meat eaters all along, and that they will continue to be even in the 'paradise earth' would be to say that they Bible is wrong.
I don't think they would be willing to go there.
I guess they could really reach and say it was 'symbolic,' . But, as already mentioned by others, it's more likely that they just won't mention it any more.

I had the impression that Jim Nelson, the retired justice, wrote the article in a column called Guest View, Nelson being the guest contributor.
The 'Dear Sir' was likely addressed to the newspaper's editor.

Religion does not give sexual predators a pass
Nelson
JIM NELSON
Dear Sir:
Assuming that the Montana Supreme Court’s recent opinion in the Jehovah’s Witnesses case (Nunez v. Watchtower Bible, 2020 MT 3) sets forth the state of the law, then the law needs to be changed.
First, no person should be allowed to sexually or physically abuse another person — minor or adult — and be protected from the consequences of that heinous act by a shape-shifting religious rule, protocol or doctrine. Freedom of Religion, guaranteed under the First Amendment does not protect criminal conduct whether perpetrated by a deity’s ministers or by anyone else.
Secondly, the perpetrators and facilitators of such conduct must be held accountable to the criminal laws. That means simply that perpetrators must be timely reported and criminally prosecuted. And just as important, those who facilitate or cover-up the perpetrator’s criminal conduct — no matter how high up in church hierarchy — must also be held accountable under the criminal law for aiding and abetting the perpetrator.
This country and our state have witnessed far too many instances of sexual assaults by religious ministers, (not to mention trusted adults in athletics, scouting organizations, and other institutions). Sexual predators and facilitators must not get a pass, because they claim to be following their religious doctrines, protocols or beliefs.
It is long overdue that our legislators remedy this situation, and it is long overdue that voters demand that they do.
Jim Nelson of Helena is a retired justice of the Montana Supreme Court.
