He was a very popular TV evangelist in the US, now retired. Jim Baker and Jimmy Swaggart were popular at about the same time, also from the US. I actually thought that Robertson has passed, but he is 92 now.

Pat Robertson makes one last ''doomsday prediction''
by RULES & REGULATIONS inpat roberston,92, comes out of his million dollar mansion ( which his loyal followers paid for ) to continue his doomsday prediction.
pat needs to make one last appearance to show his followers he was right all along.
after all his failed predictions on his ''700 club,'' pat needs to show his followers that this ''doomsday prediction'' is a bible prophecy.

That change (making organ transplants acceptable) sets up one of the biggest contradictions in the world of religion, and it is sitting right in the lap of Jehovah's Witnesses.
To this day Watchtower says that blood is an organ, a liquid organ, which is ok with me, in fact I'm glad they say that.
As it has stood since 1980 JWs can take any organ transplant there is - and it isn't considered eating, they won't be disfellowshipped for it, they don't have to meet in the back room of a Kingdom Hall with a Judicial group of elders, they won't be judged for it in any way, they are good to go, which is as it should be - except one. If they take the organ of blood, a transfusion, it is considered eating and it is a disfellowshipping (or disassociation) offense.
Go figure.

I don't have a reference at hand, but I seem to remember a remark in the Watchtower (or other JW literature), within the past 2 or 3 years, to the effect that if you haven't seen someone at the Kingdom Hall in a long time it's probably because they are living in 'serious sin.' (If someone has that reference, a note of it would be appreciated)
And how do JWs react to other JWs who are living in serious sin? They typically shun them, in this case even if there is no real indication of serious sin - Watchtower just planting the idea in the minds of JWs is enough.
Shunning has progressed over the years from JWs being completely against it (it was said to be unkind, unloving, unchristian, unscriptural, and a pagan practice), to only shunning DF'd people, to also shunning those who formally disassociate, to now shunning those who have quietly faded away.
In the case of many faders of course, they are not living in sin at all but have faded for solid reasons of conscience, but the Watchtower organization makes no allowances for conscience.
I believe this is a sign of desperation on Watchtower's part. It's about isolating JWs from anyone who might have an opposing point of view to a JW teaching.

You go to a church, which tells you NOTHING of what the Bible really says.
At first you seem to be finding fault with me that I don't go to a church, which is simply your assumption, then you find fault again if I do go to a church saying that tells me (or you) NOTHING of what the Bible actually says. I have no idea what your point is except that you are trying to find fault coming and going, which is fairly typical of Jehovah's Witnesses, but making sense tends to come in second place.
Does the GB have the spirit of the 12 apostles? It would seem so.

That's right. Again, I have to wonder, Why do you continue to follow an organization led by imperfect humans that have lied and mislead so often, and you seem to be aware of it. You say they will have to answer for themselves - I presume you mean answer to God - but so will you. Are you not aware that the Bible says, "Do not put your trust in nobles, Nor the son of earthing man, to whom no salvation belongs."? (NWT 1984 edition)
Again, JWs seem to bend over backwards to find fault with others, while at the same time ignoring their own.

I see Jehovah as God, the 'Org' (meaning the GB) just as men.
Of course. It is Jehovah that warns us against false prophets, and against those that lie. "But as for ... all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns fire and sulfur. This means the second death" (Rev 21:8, rNWT)
Those men, when caught in a lie, often say something like 'don't be deterred from God or his promises,' meaning in reality 'don't be deterred from us,' thus they are equating themselves with God. Why do you keep supporting a religion that differs from your own point of view?
I am a JW.
If you are familiar with even a small part of the Watchtower organization's misleading information, much of which amounts to outright lies, why are you still a Jehovah's Witness?
Since you realize He doesn't lie, you aren't going to a church?
What makes you think I don't go to a church?

It never ceases to amaze me how Jehovah's Witnesses equate their own religion (and their leaders) with God himself, saying we should never be disappointed in God or his promises. Right. But we should be very disappointed in the Organization that lied. God didn't lie, but Jehovah's Witnesses did. JWs should recognize the difference.
