Child Sexual Abuse: The Organization Oozes Self-Congratulations over Non-JWs Tireless Work
by steve2 inwow - the may watchtower study edition is out.
who could have anticipated entire watchtower study articles devoted to child sexual abuse?
an appreciative shout out to all the people who worked tirelessly over so very many, many years to call the organization to account over its defiantly self-serving policies and practices on responding top allegations of child sexual abuse.

Jehovah's Witnesses Called At My Door
by Roger Kirkpatrick inlast saturday morning, i answered a knock at my door to see a man standing next to a young boy who handed me a pamphlet posing the question, "how do you view the bible?
would you say it is (1) a book of human wisdom?
(2) a book of myths and legends?

Great information, but unlikely scenario. (Wasanelder Once)
I had the same feeling. It sure seemed smooth, very smooth...
- the OP remembering exactly where to turn in the KIngdom Interlinear Translation (p 23).
- remembering the name of the Catholic monk who devised the pronunciation of 'Jehovah' and the year he did it (Raymundus Martinti in 1270)
- knowing instantly which scriptures to turn to (Eph 4:4, Luke 1:19, Rev 7:15)
- having the presence of mind to work Bob Dylan and The Beatles into an illustration.
Most of us would have to have pre-studied carefully or used detailed notes to present this. Oh well, maybe the OP has a photographic memory that is called into action when there is an unexpected knock on the door.
It actually reminded me of some of the experiences presented by Watchtower in the publications, which are often just to much to take literally, even though they are much less detailed than this.

From the OP...
Its in the 2nd of a three part serries about the JW Annual Meeting (Oct 2018). Go to minute 52.
I'm a bit lost at finding the video. I see just one video of the 2018 Annual Meeting; Anthony Morris isn't in it at the 52' mark. Can someone post a direct link or provide more information on how to find it?

Often, those of us who were raised JW...assume no one but JW"s have moral standards. Some even assume that once you're not a JW, you automatically have to run out and start living some debauched lifestyle and they get themselves into some serious trouble...
Nicely said and absolutely true.
JWs are supposed to think that if you leave the Organization your life will descend into drug abuse, alcoholism, or some perverted life style. Generated by Watchtower it's a complete myth, by design, because it's a one of the hooks that keeps you following a man-made religion.

New JW phrase: bouquet of truth
by ohnightdivine ini heard it from someone who attended the latest wt study, and quickly posted it with - you guessed it - a picture of a lovely flower bouquet.

“Cherished Errors”
I've not heard that one before. It's really a way of saying JWs cherish their false teachings.
Half Banana, that's a very good explanation of 'bouquet of truth.'
It's a fitting expression of JWs temporary and fleeting kind of 'truth,' it's here today and gone tomorrow, then it becomes a 'cherished error' and we move on to another lie dressed up as some pretty thing that is designed to mislead those who fail to think.

The Ellis defence prevented abuse survivors from suing unincorporated organisations including churches and other institutions
The move to scrap it came after recommendations from the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. (Bold added)It's been said a few times that the Royal Commission, although doing good work in exposing child abuse, actually has no teeth to bring about change - a 'toothless tiger' I think it was called. This ruling proves just the opposite, that the ARC is influencing great change, and hopefully it will reach to Watchtower.

...it took 7,363 hours of field service to produce one baptism. That's three and half years of full time work to make one baptized publisher.
And probably most of the baptisms were of born-ins, who were going to get baptized anyway. The number of hrs to bring someone in from the field would be much higher. That's pretty dismal for the Organization.
