A New List of the J Versions and Where to Find them

hi!i am doing a very long and exhaustive study of the "j" versions, based off the new study edition of the new world translation:https://www.jw.org/en/library/bible/study-bible/appendix-c/divine-name-new-testament-2/.

this list has about 300 sources, mostly bibles, that the jehovah's witnesses have used to "justify" their insertion of "jehovah" into the new testament.i am doing an excel spreadsheet of where to find digitized copies of these j versions and then some notes on them.. they contain some really interesting renderings, some that would make a jehovah's witness's head spin!for example, in j29:the original aramaic new testament in plain english (an american translation of the aramaic new testament), by glenn david bauscher, seventh edition, australia, 2012which you can find here:.

Nice catch. JWs believe that Jehovah had no beginning.

Plus, saying that Jehovah is the Messiah tends to support the Trinity belief, since Jesus was the Messiah. The problem is that JWs clearly believe that Jehovah and Jesus are two different individuals.

They (the GB) should have left that one off the list of 'J Versions', since it raises a bigger problem than it solves, and as a result tends to shoot them in the foot.

I was actually raised in a church that had leaders who wore plain clothes. Not all churches have clergy with the fancy robes and such.

Yes, absolutely, elders are clergy.

JW elders have much more control over the lives of JWs than most clergy have over their flocks.

Not all clergy are paid.

Watchtower claims no clergy simply to set themselves apart from other churches, appearing on the surface to be different. It is simply a sales pitch, and a pretty tired one at that.

Lol when I look up Bible scriptures I use a standard King James Bible. Just because it's the most common Bible out there.

It's hypocritical of them to demand religious freedom while denying it to others.

This has got to be one of the biggest hypocricies in the world of religion - Watchtower denies its own followers the same freedom of religion that it insists on for itself.

Pray for the ones who went through this experience? It's a little late isn't it, since the main ones who went through this 'traumatic experience' are now dead. A lot of good being at a KH meeting did them, where Jehovah's angels did not protect them.

And "Jehovah is our refuge in times of distress?" Really? It doesn't always work, does it?

Absolutely, I remember that. JWs are taught that 'if you are disfellowshipped you are dead in God's eyes and you are dead to us too,' thus they are not allowed to speak to a df'd person, not even their own family.

Victim advocacy group Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP) said the organization itself needed to be held accountable.
"Officials within the faith that knew of this abuse did nothing. To me that’s complicit. And being complicit in crimes like these is sometimes as equal to the crime itself," said SNAP Communications Manager Mike McDonnell.

Amen to that. The Watchtower Organization is complicit in these crimes - because of it's child sexual abuse policies, including failure to report CSA to authorities - and definitely needs to be held accountable.
