How are they going to phrase this in ten years time.....
Something like 'Oh no we never said that. Some in those days misunderstood.'
Basically repeating words they have said many times before.
"we're living in the final part of the last days, undoubtedly the final part of the final part of the last days, shortly before the last day of the last days!!!".

did they hope that everybody who read the1969 awake as a kid is too senile to remember?.

Rattigan350 said: "The writer is long dead."
It doesn't matter since the writer was expressing the ideas of an organization, a dishonest religious organization, that had taught similar dishonesties long before 1969, and has done so since.
Rattigan350 said: "So what is the point of beating a dead horse on and on?"
It's not a dead horse at all because the Watchtower Organization continues to preach on and on about how armageddon and the end of the world are 'oh so close, it's just around the corner, could be any day now.'
Rattigan350 said: "That writer is not currently writing for the WTS."
This doesn't matter either, since the WTS continues to publish the same nonsense using different writers - although they are a little less specific now, which leaves more room for deniability when it will be needed later.
Rattigan350 said: "Please stop talking about the 1969 Awake article."
Of course the Watchtower Organization would love that, because the 1969 Awake article proves that the biggest enemy of Jehovah's Witnesses today is their own literature.

Thumbs up to that, Ding!!!
fyi, i posted this prediction on my facebook page last night and it has received 224 likes and there have been 83 comments made.
many of the comments are hilarious.. .
a beard prediction for 2024:.
Can you provide a link to your Facebook page? I would love to read those replies. Thanks.
i'm new here and i have perhaps an unusual question.
it's just something that i would like to know from ex's or formers rather than from other jehovah's witnesses.
but i would like to know what your experience and your struggle was for former jws who were gay when they were jws.
B.O.Y. ???
i found a tract at my door.
it was from a local baptist church!
( actually,i think someone wanted to give me a donation for the left over yardsale items i gave away.
" I never did think it right that JW expected others to read their tracts, but wouldn't accept other religions tracts. ( I took their tracts-thought it rude not to. )"
Good for you! I too was bothered by the fact that we expect others to take JW literature but we had to reject theirs. What a tremendous double standard. Now I see it as information control from a very controlling religious organization.
after being brought up a jw, going to mts, bethel, pioneer school multiple times, serving in foreign assignments and having been an elder for decades my conclusion is that i am now pima, physically in mentally agnostic.. agnostic means you think it can’t be proven either way creation or evolution.
i do tend to lean towards evolution but creation at the very start because you can’t get life from dead matter.
but i’m open to the possibility of chance theory at the origin of it all.
@ Phizzy, the book "Life Arising"
Could you have meant Life Ascending, by Nick Lane?

jesus never demanded "subsidies" from the government to share truth.
wtbt$ leaders love the god of their bellies/selfishdesires - having others provide communes for them in opposition to christ's direction.. .
Hypocrites!
As J.T. and Lady Cee (Youtube) like to accurately say, "Nobody does hypocrisy like Jehovah's Witnesses."

the new zealand branch of the jehovah’s witnesses is going to court in an attempt to have the church made exempt from the abuse in care inquiry today.. in the high court at wellington, lawyers for the church are seeking a declaration that the church is not responsible for the care of children or vulnerable people in new zealand.. abuse survivor advocate and former church elder shayne mechen said the church was trying to use a technicality to side-step its inclusion in the inquiry.. .
"GG4GB uploaded a great video outlining this."
Can you give us a Link?
this is going to break the hearts of a lot of uber-jw's!
reddit has now removed the video link of samuel herd telling jw's they will no longer have to report time or placements - just tick a box which says "active.".
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akdshyx79rm&t=13s.
I think there is about to be a major increase in the Jehovah's Witness organization.
You don't have to go door to door, or take part in the cart work - all you have to do now is check a box that says you took part in some part of the ministry, a simple passing remark to someone would qualify you to check that box.
Hours will go down but they aren't counted anymore anyway, however the number of publishers will sky rocket!
It's so easy to be a publisher now.
Of course the Organization will advertise that increase and say 'Look how Jehovah is blessing his spirit directed organization on earth today.'
the first saturday in oct. is coming up soon.
that's when the org holds its annual meeting.
not that many years back, it used to be hyped beforehand with favored ones getting special invites.
"Sam Herd said "Beginning November 1, 2023, congregation publishers will no longer be asked to report the amount of time they spend in the ministry. Nor will publishers be asked to report their placements...instead the field service report will simply have a box to indicate that the publisher shared in any form of the ministry." (bold added)
To stop reporting time seems major to me. For decades the Organization has been collecting and reporting hours and placement numbers to show how 'Jehovah's Organization is growing in these critical last days.'
Is Watchtower in such extreme decline that it needs to hide the fact that the numbers are going down? I haven't trusted their numbers for a long time - I feel they simply found ways to spin the numbers into looking better than they really are.
What else will they stop reporting? Maybe the total number of congregations, which has been dwindling too?`
