@ScenicViewer I don't get it? I mean, all I get is that they flip flop so often, they could change it again... but is there more than that?

Reading Crisis of Conscience
by hubert ini've read it twice, and also "in search of christian freedom".
that's probably why i wasn't "afraid" to read it.. my question, which has bothered me for years is...how do you get a j.w.

J.W.'s and swine flu question
by hubert inmy daughter told me that she refused the swine flu vaccine, even though she is in a risk category and could receive it.. since we know that the watchtower society banned small pox vaccinations for years when it first became available, i am curious to know if the watchtower society is doing this again, with the swine flu vaccine.. has anyone heard of this happening now?
's being discouraged into getting the swine flu vaccine by orders of the w.t.
society?.

Old thread but I guess the JW was right as the Swine Flu vaccine turned out to be a hoax and may have done more harm than good after all, rofl!

Are you an athiest and why?
by LouBelle ini'm interested in finding out people's reasons as to why they are athiest.. i have simply through life experience, my research into religions over the years come to that conclusion.
never thought i would come to a day that i did not believe in a god.
believing in a god is like believing in super man, it would be great if he existed but well it's just a fairy tale.

Most atheists are an agnostic atheist. No need to differentiate.
I am one also, and my standard answer is also, Why not?

@Morbidzbaby If they had just watched the DVD release, they would see a few cherry pickings of what the WTS just wants you to know. That is just ignorance to not even the DVDs if you are in the religion.
@00DAD Not the Elders. The Elders are only doing what the WTS says to do, don't crucify the messenger. The WTS tells jdubs that they are somehow "loving" anyone they shun, because it will help them come back to "the truth" and get saved. As we know only JWs will be saved at Armageddon....

WTF? Troll much? No one is saying Obama is perfect, but he is damn better than Mitt Romney or Rick Santorum, or Newt Gingrich, that's for sure! I don't think there should be ANY debate over that at all.
What are you complaining about exactly, anyway? It doesn't violate the constitution, President Washington himself mandated that everyone buy a rifle! Countless other mandates by the government to buy things. WTF?

Thanks. I argued some points with a JW on the comments section. Doubt we will see her again, unless it's on an ex-jw support forum. =D

this guy makes a valid point:.
if they dont want to offend anyone then i suggest a few more words to be removed:.

WOULD YOU CALL THIS A MIRACLE ?
by hubert insunday, our cousin's son was shoveling snow, and had a heart attack.
when they got him to the hospital, he had "no brain activity".
they got his heart pumping with the paddles, and he was on life support.

There is no evidence for an afterlife, nor is there any rules that say what the afterlife will have if there is an afterlife. Heaven is an abrahamic concept, everyone else calls it the afterlife. It is not politically correct to call heaven the afterlife.
A miricale can be something extraordinary, but it doesn't mean that the universe broke some kind of rule for that to happen. That just isn't how it is. It's just that: something extraordinary.
There is no reason to believe it has any connection to a God or anything else.
Whatever tickles your ears, though....
