The kicker in this whole thing is the fact that I haven't actually "come out" as a non-believer yet. So as far as they are concerned I'm still in the fold. And I'm certainly not using this occasion to break the news.

The incident with my dad is quite sad and hilarious looking back, and it had nothing to do with the witnesses.
The fact is he wanted me out of the house but would never come out and say it, so he would act in ridiculous ways to make my life hell.
I think he was hoping I would storm out like some stupid kid, realize the world is hard and come crying back to him, to teach me some kind of lesson. So one day I did, and to his credit I have learned many lessons since I’ve been away.
I just got a text from my mom asking if I'm gonna attend the meeting tonight, told her I was planning to. I'll probably just pop in right as the opening song wraps up. Wave to my brother while he's on stage and leave at the mid-point. A cowardly way to go about it, but I just don't have the will to deal with all the bullcrap.

We all cope in our own ways. Just because someone doesn't plaster their every thought on facebook doesn't mean they have none.

If you believe in the resurrection or reincarnation what race would you prefer?

As a black man I don't blame any other black that wants to come back as white.
I get the whole being "proud" thing, but you can't deny the fact that white people have certain advantages in this world.
That being said I'd want to come back as a jamaican.

CO begging for more MS's
by life is to short inthe co is at my husbands hall this week so i tied in to the meeting he was going on and on about how there are 140 elders in the circuit and only 80 something ms's.

I can personally attest to this...
I've only been out for about 3 months and while i was in there was definitely a push to not only bring more men into the truth, but to then hurry those guys along to MS and eventually elder. I'm 22 and towards the end of my tenure I was heavily "recruited" by the elders to make MS my goal. They would always pull me off to the side for these "heart to heart" conversations, asking me what they could do to help expidite my journey to servant.
Whats funny was while I never came out and directly said I didn't wan't to serve, I showed absolutely ZERO enthusiasm at the prospect. Even intentionally answering their questions in such a way so as to clearly indicate that I wasn't "qualified" to serve. This had no effect on their efforts to recruit me.
Show's you just how desperate they are.

Jehovah's Witnesses are a class A mind controlling organisation!
by TimothyT inmy dad shown me a very interesting article on wikipedia about an american psychiatrist who drew some very interesting conclusions on how to control people's minds.
see if they sound familiar!.
milieu control the control of information and communication.mystical manipulation the manipulation of experiences that appear spontaneous but in fact were planned and orchestrated.demand for purity the world is viewed as black and white and the members are constantly exhorted to conform to the ideology of the group and strive for perfection.confession sins, as defined by the group, are to be confessed either to a personal monitor or publicly to the group.sacred science the group's doctrine or ideology is considered to be the ultimate truth, beyond all questioning or dispute.loading the language the group interprets or uses words and phrases in new ways so that often the outside world does not understand.doctrine over person the member's personal experiences are subordinated to the sacred science and any contrary experiences must be denied or reinterpreted to fit the ideology of the group.dispensing of existence the group has the prerogative to decide who has the right to exist and who does not.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/robert_jay_lifton.

This is something I worry about. I haven't come out to my family as an athiest yet, but I am certain I will be totally shunned by them.
They are already talking because I haven't been to a metting in almost 2 months.
