HI Folks,
It's that time of the year again, my annual evaluation.
On the positive side after about 5 months uemployment, I regained full time employment on the 18th of Feb 03. I have about regained some semblance financial stability. It is not much of a job[no ins. I would not have gotten the job if I had required the insurance because of my age....I know that is illegal but I wanted the job]. Compensation is adequate but not enough to live "large". Some overtime.
I still don't feel real good about my life and accomplishment or lack thereof, but have adjusted somewhat to the fact that I just won't amount to "much". After being "sober" for almost 8 years it is still very difficult for me to deal with any people at most any level.... I am for all practical purposes a hermit[ one cat one dog]. I can get by a day at a time but never really look forward to any thing or any event. It's a dull routine.
Overall, I would consider this year a C or C+.
THANKS for the EAR,
Mike
I did get a new computer, the other one caught a cold and expired!!!
if you won the lottery, what would you do?
would you continue to work?
how much would you give your family and friends?
Go to work with a VERY LARGE smile on my face tomorrow morning:)

this is the pub that we stayed at, the paleo inn at paleokastritsa on the greek island of corfu:.
it was a great place to stay, here's me almost opposite the pub:.
this is down on the beach, nice eh?.
I have never been to Albania, but during my military tours in the early '70s, I visited Corfu, Rhodes, Crete and the mainland of Greece. I enjoyed it very much as I did all of Europe that I saw.

here's a little quiz that i'm interesting in getting responses to.. .
some are true/false questions, others are open answer question.. 1. true or false.

Yeru; You are absolutely correct about the frauds. The SEALS/ Special Forces, Etc. are usually the ones that some one trys to emulate. There are several sites dedicated to exposing these people, rightfully so. There are many list with picture etc. of these people. Carefull questioning and a little research can uncover all but the most crafty.

ok the weirdest thing just happened to my coworker and i. we went to go pickup our breakfast from accross the street.
when we got back to our building we walked over to the elevators and as we turned the corner we saw someone get into the elevator before it closed.
we didnt see the person exactly but we saw their leg or whatever passthrough before the door closed.
You're not suppose to drink your breakfast.

Dakota, Robyn; I don't doubt either of your experiences.
Mine is somewhere between the two.
I have personally sat down and smoked large quantities of pot with fighter pilots[Top Gun types]. These guys were fresh out of the Academy and in training. They smoked frequently. Once we were interrupted by their XO[a CDR], I don't think anything was ever said because nothing to my knowledge came of it.
In my experience, I at different times worked in the maint. of fighter aircraft, most of the enlisted[e-7 and below] were drug users of one type or the other. Many times I saw people take "acid", [orange barrels were popular then] and then engage in the launch and recovery of aircraft on carrier flight decks[A VERY dangerous place, even when everything went well]. Seconol[ RED DEVILS] were also popular as was Hashish. Thai stics were a fovorite when available and cheap[ a fist full cost about $1 and would make you see Jesus in technicolor, great stuff].
In my last assignment, one fellow I worked with carried his daily supply of pot in and out the main gate in a brown grocery bag. Alway had a pound or so. He went on to become a highly sucessful recruiter. They had started "piss" testing people by then, only problem with this was any one over 30[or comissioned] was exempt. Lucky me!!!
My life, personally, was a mess. Although a drug user/abuser, Alcohol was my preference. It was legal and morally acceptable to the service, and in some instances...Encouraged.
There are many different situations to be looked at. You are both correct and there are many stories inbetween.
Mike{of the presently clean and sober class]
there is an article at http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?page=story_30-1-2003_pg3_2.
belgium is the latest european country that has decided to phase out nuclear reactors.the others are germany, spain, sweden and the netherlands.
seven other countries austria, denmark, greece, ireland, italy, luxembourg and portugal have either abandoned nuclear power or never established programmes.. .
Real; Your desert or mine???
