XENA, You are absolutely correct. As an ADULT we should carefully consider our comment BEFORE uttering them. Even with an apology, words once spoken/written can never be retracted.

EMAN; Although the apology is exemplary....A REAL adult would not have made the original comment.

any one else seen this one?.i thought it was very good about viet nam with mel gibson.the horror of war and the the display of brutality was very realistic .just wondering if any viet nam vets experieced anything close what was portrayed in this community.
HI HEATHEN, Many will not even acknowledge that time period let alone watch or read about it.
Some might react violently being exsposed[especially againt their will] to special effects. It might be impossible to seperate it from an actual experience.

The battle portrayed was an actual event. LtCol. Moore was an actual commander. The movie was VERY realistic. The event as portrayed were larger than life to me. I threw up during it... One of the closing comments was the whole point of the movie for me...I can't remember the line exactly, but was something to the effect...That the soldiers eventually ended up fighting not for God or Country but as a brotherhood to survive. Too many did not come back.... alive or to live. I am absolutely terrified of seeing the "WALL", maybe some day.
GOOD accurate movie.

ah yes, major league baseball is about to shoot itself in the foot again, as the player's union has set an august 30th strike deadline.
personally, i feel that these bozos (owners and players included) can't be so dumb as to actually jeapordize this season, just as they ruined the 1994 season.
how do you feel about a possible baseball strike?
I don't know,JACK......

does anyone have access to old copies of the "pay attention ..." book?.
i'm particularly interested in editions from that period of time when the wts taught that rape was fornication if the victim did not scream.. would a copy of the book from that era contain a statement to the effect that "silent" rape was consentual fornication?.
i'm hoping one of our wonderful archivists might be able to help.. or maybe one of you bethel spooks wouldn't mind scanning a copy of the book from the bethel library?.
i don't have a clue how a computer works.
i just turn it on and point and click and i am able to do what i need to do, unless of course something goes wrong, or in the worst case scenario if my little machine experiences the dreaded blue-screen crash, then i am really in a mess.
that is the way the financial system is for most people.
IF the DOW was to drop to 2,000, I would not become nervous or expect the end. The DOW, in my opinion, should be around 2,000 anyway. Watch the NASDAQ.

okay, as some of you know ... there are collectors out there.
some people collect stamps, others comics and even salt and pepper shakers, go figure.
although i have some 6,000 books in my home, i don't consider myself a collector, i just love to read and i do a lot of research, i mean who else gives you all those little known facts about the early days?
RR, He didn't get anything and had to pay for the listing because he closed the auction.
Why did he close early????
