Not really. I got into Wicca for a while but I don't really like the idea of worshipping any deity. I try to live my life by following some Wiccan and Buddhist principles, 'good will to all, and harm to none' (law of 3/karma), respect for children, nature and animals, that kind of thing. I'm a pragmatic agnostic - you can't put a label to my faith but I'm open-minded and might accept something if sufficient evidence [scientific] were presented.
Last year I spent a month working at a Catholic school. Although I didn't get involved with any of the religious aspects of the school day, it certainly helped me to become more accepting of other Christian faiths - something that JWs aren't too good at practising.

No need for dung. Just wear trainers day-in, day-out for a few months. There's little more off-putting than smelly feet!
ROFLMAO @ Keren Happuch!!!!

Wow! Congratulations. She really is beautiful. She also looks a decent weight (mine were both little 6lb-ers) - how much did she weigh?
Glad you're both well. If this experience didn't put you off too much I'm sure your 2nd will be a lot faster! I too second the idea of photographing her in the quilt and sending that to your sis.

LOL @Sam Whiskey!
Haha shamus100!Funny to think we have such beauty and diversity in such an ecologically boring part of the UK. I didn't see anything half as visually stunning as this in the butterfly house at Bristol Zoo. It cost me £12 to get in there, whereas I found this little guy by accident when I was getting my washing in off the clothes line.

Thanks Fortis!
I can identify a fair few butterflies but I've not come across many varieties of moth so never really learned about any of the different species.
Now I know what it is, I Googled and found out some interesting info. I now realise it was an elephant hawk caterpillar that I spotted 2 weeks back right next to some rosebay willowherb (Epilobium angustifolium), which we have in abundance here, only a few feet away from where I found this this fella. Apparently their numbers have increased over the past few years which might explain why I don't recall ever having seen one before today.

Where the GB gets their info....
by RagingBull inokay...so in the "revelation - its grand climax at hand!
" book, at the end of page 124 to 125...there is mention of "resurrected ones" of the annointed class/24 elders that may be the ones communicating information to the governing body.. 1. thought we were not to communicate with the spirit realm (scriptural).
2. does the "may be" mean that they don't even know, really, who's communicating with them?.

what was your "back burner?"
by stillin inwhen i was studying in the truth book i laid aside quite a few questions, feeling that i was learning something important, and that those "nagging questions" would be answered in due course.
most of those questions have gone unanswered because i was led along, like a stupid pig with a ring in his nose, by other pseudo-questions of, really, non-importance.
i've had problems with conforming, if that is the word, with "correct speak" in the organization, and it has been apparant to most of the people i've known over the years.

Dinosaurs, the flood, 607 BC, 1914, head coverings for women, aborted & miscarried babies at the resurrection (how does that one work if the mother didn't make it?), demons, the vastness of the universe - I had lots of niggly things gnawing away at my subconscious.
Ultimately, it was a few contradictions in the Bible, the issue of how the WTBTS view GLBT individuals, hypocrisy and a lack of love in my local congregation (the only love they had was a love of idle gossip) that clinched it for me.

Found this wee beastie on my garden wall this evening. I know it's a moth but what type? I've never seen anything like it before in my life. You should get an idea of its size in relation to the brick. I love how its markings are a pinky red and khaki green, so although it photographed clearly, it was actually pretty well camouflaged - evidence of evolution maybe? Don't suppose the garden of Eden had a red brick wall..?

Breaking News: New Language Software reveal Bible Author i.d.
by Terry inbible's different authors revealed by new language softwareby matti friedman 06/29/11 12:46 pm et .
jerusalem -- software developed by an israeli team is giving intriguing new hints about what researchers believe to be the multiple hands that wrote the bible.. the new software analyzes style and word choices to distinguish parts of a single text written by different authors, and when applied to the bible its algorithm teased out distinct writerly voices in the holy book.. the program, part of a sub-field of artificial intelligence studies known as authorship attribution, has a range of potential applications from helping law enforcement to developing new computer programs for writers.
but the bible provided a tempting test case for the algorithm's creators.. for millions of jews and christians, it's a tenet of their faith that god is the author of the core text of the hebrew bible the torah, also known as the pentateuch or the five books of moses.

I wonder if they can do use with software with the New World Bible and compare it with the writing style of Fred Franz
Ha! Brilliant idea dgp. Seeing as Moses penned God's words and Fred Franz allegedly translated them with help from God's own holy spirit, then the NWT should be identical in style and meaning from the original.
