That's pretty awesome. I saw Metallica at Wembley Stadium in 07. It was unforgettable. Dave Mustaine is now a born again christian. His autobiography,'Mustaine: A Life in Metal', is a pretty good read.

party like a motherf*cker and try not to drink myself to death is what i should do.. i just thought it was hilarious.

I had no idea that it had such an impact on policing in the US. I'll have a look to see if I can find the amc programme. I went to the cinema to see it with my ex-husband and we watched it together a few times on DVD but I haven't seen it for a few years.

Towards a Transformative Hermeneutics of Quantum Gravity (JW Speak)
by Perry inthe sokal affair.
the paper, transgressing the boundaries: towards a transformative hermeneutics of quantum gravity, was published in science wars in 1996. on the day of publication, sokal announced (in a different paper,) that the article was a hoax.
he said that social text was a pastiche of left-wing cant, fawning references, grandiose quotations, and outright nonsense.

My all-time favourite deception/hoax:
The Cottingley Fairies
In 1917, 2 young girls, Frances Griffiths & Elsie Wright faked fairy photographs using tissue paper and hatpins, whilst fooling around with Elsie's father's camera. They fooled renowned photographer, Harold Snelling, Sir Arthur Conan-Doyle and KODAK! In 1920 The Strand magazine published an article entitled "An Epoch Making Event - Fairies Photographed".
Sometimes we want to believe what we see/read.

And that is why my JW sister's marital home is her mother-in-law's house, and why 13 years later, she works doing the same job she did at 16 (a JW's business) even though her A Level results were considerably better than mine, and she got accepted to 2 respectable Universities yet turned down both offers. What a waste!

Not exactly scientific (unless you happen to be a botanist) but a hoax presented by a reputable, respectable, current affairs programme which managed to fool the majority of Britain at the time it was broadcast...

We recognize when posters are drinking....but I have a delicate query...
by Glander init is pretty obvious when some posters get most....animated?
it is always later in the day, cocktail hour, especially weekends.
but my question is this:.

Do female posters perhaps express themselves 'differently' here at certain times of the month?
Yeah, that special time of the month known as payday is cocktail EVENING not just 1 hour!

Weird? Sinister? Or just hi-tec?
by Chariklo init's the end of a seriously stressful day.
after going through my emails and browsing a couple of shopping sites for autumn clothes, i came here for light relief.. checked the active topics and then my own list of topics posted to in case i needed to answer anyone.
then i noticed something really weird.. google's banner ads caught my eye.
