  How do I tell my husband?

  i'm a born in, baptized as a young teenager, whole family is jw.

  i just recently woke up after the new understanding of the fds was announced and it seemed to me to smack of power-grabbing.

  i started looking at all the websites we're not supposed to, and now i know why.

  The FDS change is what did it for you? Weird. No offense.

  Camels and straws and so on, I suppose. But most JWs are all like, "Well, we never gave a shit what brother whatshisname -- the anointed fellow over in the westbumblefuck congregation thought, anyway. So, it's all good." But you see is for the sneaky little power grab it is -- though, to be honest, this is one case where I can sorta see the JW side here: nobody ever did care what any anointed person thought about anything at all. So, really, it's kinda not such a big change.

  What is the best way to celebrate ?

  what is the best way for an inactive/ fader like me to celebrate the anniversary of my walking away from all things jw ?.

  as my last meeting was the memorial several years ago, it always falls around this time of year.. my first instinct is,........ wait for it............. you've guessed it............... lots of beer !.

  but what i was looking for was something that would send a message to jw's, especially family that are in, without them having a way to dismiss it as me being provocative or whatever.. any ideas ????

  Is the Revelation Grand Climax book in print anymore?

  i watched a couple daniel clark videos on youtube (simple but interesting btw) and he mentioned the revelation book is no longer in print.. is that true??

  what other books did we grow up with that are out of print?.

  truth booklive forever book(old) united in worship(old) evolution/creation bookthose seem to be the biggies.

  It's very strange, this extremely large list of changes. On so many things, the org clearly doesn't seem to give a golly darn (guideline #3 adjustment -- Sulla) about accuracy or logical consistency or anything. But here, you have this really specific set of precise adjustments.

  Look at this:

  p. 175, ¶12, replace footnote with: * Roman historian Tacitus reports that when Jerusalem was captured in 63 B.C.E. and Cneius Pompeius entered the temple sanctuary, he found it was empty. There was no ark of the covenant within.—Tacitus History, 5.9.

  This, from an organization that can't be bothered to give a shoot (guideline #3 adjustment -- Sulla) about the most absurd misquotes of a dozen theologians of the early Church or the complete mis-characterization of the work of scientists dealing with evolution. How does this make sense?

  i slept horribly last night because of stress.

  it's been a while since i had insomnia, but the meetings are slowly causing that disorder to make a comeback.

  the " bible " study was one of the most messed up things that i have heard in a long time.

  When I was in the bindery, we were cranking out Revelation books like mad. Big, floppy books have to be feed into the casing-in machine just right -- a sort of double move rather than the simplistic 192-page-technique. 32 books per minute, as I recall.

  Exceptionally awesome. Df'ing is done out of love and not hate, you see. The others, they hate; while we here, we love. That's the difference, of course: we are us and they are not us.

  well it was a very long discussion.

  the elder knew nothing about the scandal, but he stated that he had no issue with it since when the case was brought to light, the society acted immediately to right their course.

  in fact he thought it was a sign that that the organisation was indeed the "truth".

  Hey Phiz. But don't other people have experiences of God, the transcendent, the spiritual, or whatever? Yet it seems to me you would discount these experiences as being able to offer insight into what is true. Or do you mean to say that you believe only your own experiences? I don't suppose so, since a very many people have relied on their own experiences and been led quite seriously astray: we can imagine a man whose experiences lead him to believe his wife loves him, until a different experience disabuses him of this idea, for example.
