Why so much mental illness among JW's?

i have just added an audio tape on mental illness among jehovah's witnesses by jerry bergman.

it is interesting to hear the reasons why jehovah's witnesses have a much higher rate of mental illness than the normal population.

the history channel had a spt.

11 show on last night, and most of it was the same ol' same ol'---but something did catch my attention.. video was being shown of people evacuating lower manhattan, and the brooklyn bridge was filled to capacity with people.. the voice over says, "people fled every way they could--they streamed across the bridge to brooklyn.".

now, i'm wondering, if you had just left ground zero and you were one of the ones runningon the bridge--and you saw a big sign that said--.

There was not one (1) person from Bethel along the way to hand out water, wet towels, etc

maybe they thought it was the NYC marathon going reverse, cuz christians dont compete unless it is placing magazines

I do not know him personally but have exchanged a few emails with him. I asked him

about his status in the cong and he said he has not faced any judicial action. He also

posts on channelc every once in awhile.

Watchtower email sent to me by accident

as you may already know, i own the internet domain "watchtower.ca" (note, ".ca" stands for canada).

if you go to www.watchtower.ca (thinking it might be the bethel canada site, which it would be if non-idiots were working at bethel canada) you are redirected to http://quotes.jehovahswitnesses.com (heh heh heh).. but it gets better: any email sent to <anybody>@watchtower.ca gets sent to me ([email protected]).. i just thought i would solicit your comments on the email i received via this method.

it appearst that brian andersen was forwarding some information from his private home email address to his work email address.

i've been ok. working mandatory 12 hour shifts.....but everything is suprisingly quite.. even with the normal 911 calls....it was not the same today.

(of course the day is not over).

could new yorkers be behaving?......

I have a ny policeman question.

I in brooklyn, we often see the hasidic jewish police force out. often times

they will have sirens and drive crazy like they are realy NYPD. am i under

obligation to get out of their way? can they arrest or ticket me. I try to be nice anyway.

Planting seeds of doubts- What works for you?

i have found differences in the way to plant seeds of doubt: here are my experiences.

when speaking to jw's i found that the "un" & the child abuse cases where the jw pedophiles have been convicted and in prison works wonderful.. when speaking with non-jw's i found that speaking to them about jw pedopiles who go door to door makes them totally irate.. i've also asked them to do non-biased research on topics they are not sure.

i've told them if you are in the "trvth" you have nothing to worry about the information that you will find.. let's share what has worked for you when plating seeds of doubt?.

I have found that offering words of various changes in teachings.

teachings that conflict each other., such as the fds being chosen

in 1919 and the wack teaching that continued to follow. As many

on this board have said..."the society is its own worst enemy"

Public opinion on the issue of Iraq???

when prime minister tony blair was 'summoned' to camp david a couple of day's ago, he looked succinctly uncomfortable when doing a press interview with president bush.

today, the prime minister faces the tuc conference, the main agenda covering the impending war on iraq.

british public opinion is very much for the action to not take place against iraq.
