  or at least that's what my super jw ex-roommate told me when i try to have an adult discussion w her about the importance of a higher education... according to her (a girl that never finished hs because it was not necessary) she has a better education than any college graduate because the jehovah has used the borg literatrash to teach her many many important things.... she says her knowledge of the "truth" is the equivalent of my 4 years of college education..... .

  I have 2 years of a communication major under my belt, and now decided to go for an International Business Mgmnt degree and i love every minute of this college experience... I have always been an free-thinker and had trouble understanding most of the WT crap... but i was so depressed i felt for it... now that i am out, i have learned to just let them believe what they want and walk away from their stupidity...

  I would like to see them putting in their resume under Higher Education "Awake! and Watchtower Magazines 19?? to present"... sure that's going to get them a job.... ::roll my eyes::

  I agree with one of the comments here about how the worst part about JWs is not their ignorance, but how they really truly believe they are better than everyone else....

  It does not matter how old you are, is never late to learn and explore the world.. when your eyes finally open and you are free everything becomes so much fun!!!

  BotR: At first i tried to rationalize w her.. but that was impossible (all the knowledge she needs is in those books).... so i just looked at her w pity and told her i had to go... she knows i dont agree w her and i think she is being stupid throwing away her life, I was about to go off on her but then i remember were these stupids arguments were coming from and decided to leave it as it is...

  NC: I know exactly what you mean, they believe the "scientific" articles in Awake! are proven facts and enough to hold an intelligent convo w a college graduate... they dont understand how cringe worthy is to hear them try to defend their fairy tale stories w information that has no reference or back bone... I mean seriously!! And to make matters even worst the w(b)itch had the audacity to tell me my executive job is not as demanding as her part time waitress job!! WTH! according to her i am wasting my time because she does more waitressing 3 hours a day and preaching the rest of her day.... and breathe!! wooozaahhhh!

  Growing up a Jehovah's Witness - New Video

  i have put together a video - growing up a jehovah's witness 1960 -2010. it aims to show the things a witnesses would be taught as they age over those decades.

  it is 15 minutes long.

  this is my first attempt at a video and it took a while to work out how to use final cut, so please feel free to make suggestions if anything should be changed.

  so, i think i am about ready to write my da letter... i am freaking done w this cult.... .

  yesterday i went over to pick up some $$ from my old jw roommate (cellphone contract!

  ) and we started talking, since i am not df (yet) we still talk about regular stuff w/o a problem... she is almost 30, not exactly a model and not even remotely interested in going to school or getting a full time job (she wants to spend all of her time in the field circus because the end is near ::roll eyes::)... back to the story, while talking to her she started talking about this brother she rejected like 2 years ago, but now she wants him back because she realized she is not going to find another man with such a small pool of options... the dude is almost border line apostate now (tehehehe) and rejected her... guess what was he reaction?

  So yeah, titles DO matter to JWs despite their denials of that claim. Btw cuz, on a different note, (to keep this as unanimous as possible) I was thinking when we go on the trip this year, we're gonna have the JW world after us once they see pictures of us three together. You're considered DF'd by some Witnesses even though all you did was faded. Some say you "renounced your religion" cause you left, so pictures of us can possibly get us DF'd too especially if you DA yourself in a letter. The $#!t is about to hit the fan.

  Dont worry about it cuz... i have NO contact w the JWs, including the ones related to me... they are blocked from my FB page and cannot even find me if the search for my name... so even if i post pictures they wont see them.. and i wont tag u or the wifey... so, is all good..

  in the other hand... yes i think shit is about to hit the fan for u guys.... completely unrelated to me... just keep doing what you have been doing, deny deny deny!!! :p

  this person had everyone list occupations/industries that would cease to exist in the paradise.

  it's interesting how they think that everyone is going to turn into a carpenter, builder, farmer, etc.

  Reading this post, made me want to throw up... bunch of stupid people... i cant believe i was one of them... :S

  I mean seriously, i was one of those who also said "paradaise sounds boring" i am a city girl, i do not want to farm, hell no!!! and i got the same exact answer as serenity "u'll get use to it"... c'mon i thought the new world was about us being finally happy.. happiness for me involves cars, electricity and a no manual labor!!!

  since i decided to leave off being a jw i have been pursuing an interest in new age/celtic religion.

  i don't want anything to do with christianity any more, but don't have enough knowledge yet to completely abandon all belief in god.

  i am also averse to accepting this life is all there is since i spent half of it wasting my time as a jw.. anyway, i have found a local coven that is looking for new members and is willing to train anyone who is new.
