  how many of you have ever worked on a quick build?

  here's a good one.

  i am a professional pencil pusher by nature.....but many years ago i decided i would volunteer at quick builds so i could help "build a house for jehovah".

  It was an act of piracy at worst, and colonialism at its best.

  How can European colonists cry colonialism? I think the part of the Argentine story that makes it ring so hallow is that it was one group or Europeans that kicked another group of Europeans off of a rock. This is not some Island Group that is claimed by a group of natives since the 900s. Look around South America, there are millions of indigenous people who can cry colonialism, but when a bunch of White Argentines cry about losing a rock 180 years ago I have no sympathy. Land disputes dot the globe and there are too many to count.

  We are talking about a country where the indigenous population is around 1%. None of whom lived on the Falklands. Speaking Spanish does not rise to the level of being an oppressed native group.

  If you need to fight for someone I am sure there are many Indigenous Argentines who would love your help getting their land back. You can go over to help out in neighboring Bolivia and fight for them. No one is going to cry for Argentina.

  P.S. Like the Spanish didn’t use Piracy to take things from others....

  Many people will go back unless they kill their fears of the JWs being the only path to safety when the big "A" comes. Just look at the numbers right after 9/11 and the 2007 financial crash. There will always be events that scare us.

  It was my one year aniversary of killing these thoughts last June. Had I not done that, there is a chance I would have run back at some point, especially if I had kids.

  i was at a party, er, gathering this weekend and there were several folks that i haven't talked to in awhile there.

  yes many of us here were false prophets parroting the wts/gb/jworg's false teachings for years.

  "new lite" = time ran out... has anyone noticed how the wts keeps quoting genesis 6:3, the scripture on a generation lasting 120 years?

  they did it again in yesterdays wt study.

  I am a Deist. I have a feeling that there is a god out there who got the ball rolling. I cant prove it one way or the other and someday I lean toward there being no god at all. So far in life I see no reall indications that a god has done anything for humanity. I dont see any world religion that is worth a shit.

  I can go through the bible and find so many issues, that I had to give up on it being divinely inspired. (The creation story, the exudus, the flood, Job, the time it took to write down the account of Jesus, and so on)

  Greybeard, I dont promote the worship of Satan or of Jah. My only point is when I started to look critically at parts of the bible I noticed some majo holes. Job is one of the biggest holes. We always read about how great Job's faith was, but we never stoped to think about how immoral the story is when you break it down.

  Thats also why I bring up a third of the angels falling away. They were perfect creatures with no inherint sin and the ability to avoid satans power, yet 1/3 fell away. What hope do you and I have in succedeing?

  These and many other thoughts about the bible allow people like WTWizzard to talk about Satan that way. Satan is a myth to us, so he has no power.
