  i have thought a lot about what to say when i am approached.

  it will kill my fade, but oh well.. "after the new light i had to test my faith and i couldn't prove to myself that the slave was limited to the governing body.".

  if cornered by an elder...."can you prove to me from the scriptures that matt.

  You cant win an arguement with somone who is not using logic. Only answer that question if you are prepared to DA/DF yourself.

  Prime - The real issue relates back to the failure of the organization to inform the congregation or the superior authorities. They forced many to be silent with threats of DFing the people who brought reproach on 'God's Name'

  Kendrick was not a rank and file member in the same way a lay catholic person is. He is a public minister who was going door to door distributing literature on behalf of the organization.

  I wont spend too much time worry about your comments, the courts will write a much more eliquent response to the watchtower. I feel confident that the JW will loose this one, but time will tell.

  0 so far but I did help a family of independent fundamentalist Baptists find the wonderful world of Atheism. Saved 2 little girls from being forced to be submissive and have overwhelming sexual agnst as teens.

  We all need to help somoene get away from organized religion, it is a snare and a racket....

  Hard work gets you ahead is part truth part fallacy. There have been many studies that have shown this. If sooner read the Atlantic article that Betsy posted he might know that.

  The best graph I ever saw about problems in the US is a graph that showed your ability to move social classes.(I cant seem to find it today) Canada and Denmark beat the US but we were somewhat ahead of the UK and way ahead of France. Moral to the story is the American Dream, is now the Canadian/Danish Dream.

  i have a gorgeous female friend that is about 25 years old.

  she tries to be nice to everyone on the planet, but there is one overweight 50's old lady that is stalking her all the time.

  she keeps ignoring her.

  Making a Last Will and testament for ex JWs

  so you survived the wts upbringing and despite a bad start managed to put your life back together and plan for the future:.

  pension planning and general finance for ex-jws.

  sadly, you may find yourself still at a disadvantage as you lack the support group of friends and family that many rely on and could be cut-off even from immediate family.. but it can't get any worse can it?.

  This reminds me of a story an older gay man once told me about the 90s. He said that he had to hospice over 15 of his friends at different points who were all dying of AIDS. They had all been disowned by their family and had no where else to go. He would call the families and let them know that they didnt have much time to say goodbye. NOT one of them came to see their dying child! Oddly enough a few days after their death they would come and happily pick over the belongings of their passed son. They would also try to get ahold of the assets because many of them didnt have a will.

  Dont let people who wont visit you when dying profit from your death, or worse give your money to the WTS.

  For Those who believe the Bible is truly the word of God

  i am not an athiest or agnostic... i definately believe in god.

  however i would honestly like to hear others explain to me why they believe the bible is truly the word of god.. .

  The most disappointing part of the bible was when I realized all NT books were most likely written down after the distruction of the Temple in 70AD. We have no NT manuscripts that date before 150 AD. This makes me think that a bunch of people wanted to create legitimacy by writing down prophecy after the fact.

  so i signed up to volunteer at a local urban community center- first time i've ever volunteered for a non-jw effort.

  i thought i would end up cleaning, organizing, something like that, but the first thing they wanted us to do was go door to door in the neighborhood handing out flyers!

  This has to be the longest thread about a non-issue that I have ever seen! Some kid said the lord prayer and christians piss themselves over how amazing he is (a 1st grader could have done it). On the flip side the Atheists are upset that he did it. This is a non-contraversy.
