Well, that cartoon sums things up perfectly. The Palestinians and Isrealis are too busy living in the past, finding blame and seeking revenge to even bother themselves with solutions in the present.
The whole thing angers me greatly. Until Sharon and Arafat are replaced as leaders, what we see is what we'll continue to see. I disagree with what the Isrealis are doing to the Palestinians and also what the Palestinians are doing to the Isrealis.
Until they get past religion, history and revenge, there will never be peace in the Middle East. Very very sad. Both are wonderful peoples with great cultures.

on 2 recent occasions i have been joined for breakfast by 2 separate individuals, both ex-witnesses.
stunningly - to me anyway - both were absolutely appalled when, for my "choose any 7 items for 1.99" brekky i opted to include black sausage.
just love the way those black bits mix into the egg-yolk, mmm!
Even before I was a dub, I wouldn't touch blood sausage, and I never will! yuuuuuck!

do you think it's possible to fall in love with someone online?
assuming they give you a real picture of themselves and are honest about themselves.. is it possible to love this person before you meet them?
i'm not talking about the kind of love you share with your friends, i'm talking the real deal.
I met a man online in IRC chat and we hit it off right away. This was seven years ago now. He is unhappily married and I was at the time unhappily married , now separated and we just supported each other. We became the best of friends. He sends pics of his kids, tells me how things are going for him at home and I do the same.
About a year ago, we realized we were in love. We also realize that it's a no win situation. I will not break up a family, and I would be thrilled if he and his wife could work it out, but there isn't much chance of that. His children are young and I told him I knew he would never abandon them, and I would hate him if he did. He lives in the USA and I live in Canada. We talk over the phone, and pretty much everyday via MSN or Icq and email. He's my soulmate, and I'm his. Meeting him would not make any difference. We got to know each other - faults and all, over the years. We're there for each other through the good and bad.
Neither of us saw this coming. But we do... we love each other. It IS possible to love more than one person at a time. He and I would love to run off, but both of us are rational beings. Time will tell.

the trial to decide whether the father can continue to allow his ill jw daughter to have blood transfusions is in progress.
four people are testifying in the father's defense.
jim penton, sam muramoto, chris christonson, and greg stafford.
Simon - no hon, I didn't think you were pointing fingers at me.
Hawkaw and Path- I will hold off talking to the lawyer and instead send words of support to the Dad.
Thank you both,
Mimilly

well, it is finally time to take my bike and family and head 650 miles over to fresno, ca.... i was asked to perform the wedding ceremony for some close friend that ride.
i am not ordained, and the wedding isnt legal (pagan/biker wedding), so all in all, it should add up to a good ride and some fun.
i will be chased there by a van of my kids and wife, with them taking turns on the harley with me.. i will have pictures to post on the mmesa.net/exjw site.. .
Animal darlin',
Have a safe and wonderful trip! I'm looking forward to seeing the pics.

Simon - This lawyer KNEW this when he accepted the case. Should he win it, the business it will bring him would be large in proportion.
I agree that it may well be the firm he is working for that made the decision. That said, then they should be reminded of the business and prestige this will bring them.
They knew when they accepted this case - therefor to quit now, isn't right. It could also be that someone high up in the firm has been paid off by the WTS.
I'll find a way to help financially Simon. I can sell some things and send the cash. I just can't see someone being expected to pay 72,000.00 in one drop.
Perhaps the thing to push here Simon, is for people to be calm and respectful in their communication with said lawyer and firm.

stratton, ohio (ap) -- in a town this small, it's easy to tell who doesn't belong.
While in one particular congregation - the military (where my husband worked, and in PMQs we lived) banned the JWs from preaching. At this base, the military family quarters are not separated from civilians, but blended in with, which was actually really nice.
No ban is going to stop the dubs. We went door to door, and sometimes the military police or RCMP were called, and we said we'd listen, but were back the next day. If we thought we were noticed, we'd leave that street and do another.
Moral of the story - no ban, whereever it is, will stop the dubs from doing their thing.

Simon - I would never be disrespectful, either via email or phone. I do not however, think it is fair that he not see the dad to the end of this. I will keep it to an email, as I agree that calling would be pestering.
