Contagious?

a teacher asks her class to use the word contagious.. james, the class swot, gets up and says, "last year i got the measles and my mum said it was contagious".. "well done james" says the teacher, "can anyone else try"?.

katie, a sweet little girl with pigtails says "my grandma says there's a bug going around, and its contagious".

"well done, katie" says the teacher.

For Awhile (poem)

i'm so lonely at night.

if not for my dogs, warm waterbed,.

the nightlight..... well i try not to cry.

I'm so lonely at night
If not for my dogs, warm waterbed,
the nightlight....
Well I try not to cry
I rock back and forth and
hugging my pillow,
I try to kiss the darkness good-bye

But then
Walking around I find me
hearing myself echo
Heaviness inside
I'm weary of distractions:
movies, internet and the radio

But,

It's only 2 hours to sunrise
There'll be some warmth again
and I'll avoid the void that is night time

For awhile.

Why is it so cold when you need warmth the most?
(You'll find I answer my own questions)
Hopes that get moldy and
need some shining up
I'm an electrical cord.....
unplugged

Is it asking too much for
someone special to hold me?
I'm not asking for too much......
I'm not.

When will this lonliness subside?
When will this heaviness go? Sunrise......

There are many times I have to take a break from reading the bloody news (no pun intended there) because of the sheer amount of man's inhumanity to man occuring around the planet on every given day.

And yes - get laid. That always helps, no matter WHAT the problem is.

I'm with the other poster re: the hangover though - no sympathy; self-inflicted injury. Sigh - here, have two of my painkillers, guaranteed to work better than your tylenol.

have mercy...been waitin' on the bus all day...

my car has been in the shoppe for the past 2 days, so i've been making my way around town by riding the city bus.

i actually like it quite a bit, and it is good on the conscience knowing that i am not contributing to global warming by using a 3000 pound carbon dioxide spewing vehicle to haul my 140 pound ass around town.

i am going to continue riding even after i get my car back.. anyways, i got on the bus yesterday, and lo and behold, the driver was a watchtowerist from my last congo.

Not a dump post at all! I love taking the bus, unless it's rush hour, but even then one can 'zone out' for a bit, which cannot be done while driving.

We've got decent public transit here, and I refer to the bus as my 'limo'. (I do miss my van though - kinda hard to take two dogs on the bus and go for a cruise)

The Coca Cola Corporation

sitting this evening with friends chilling out as you do, most of them anti-global capitalists and coca cola came up into the conversation.. you know, we couldn't come up with anything that essentially this giant corporation was doing or has done that might affect adversely other people elsewhere.

all they produce is one bloody great drink that everyone loves.. anyone else heard of or have something on this corporation?.

here's cheers to coke!!.

sigh, gulp, gulp....AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

(I don't smoke, I rarely drink liquor, I can't smoke weed - THIS is my one vice - oh, and chocolate, which I know has it's own horror stories of slavery in the coco fields)
