  well, crap.

  i want a new harley fxd dyna superglide.

  but, then again, a kawasaki vulcan classic is a few thousand $$'s cheaper.

  Everytime I see a Harley going by - I want to blast the noisy, high-barred piece of machinary to bits. I find absolutely nothing sexy about a HD. I think it's hype. They're bloody noisy. If you came across a car like that - would you buy it? Would you think it was sexy? Nope. And those high 'handle bars' that the riders have to hold their arms over their heads to hang on to are dangerous. The riders look like apes hangin' from their own vehicle.

  I love motorcycles. I have never been able to tolerate a Hog.

  Bad Day

  i'm posting here because i can't find any other forum to post to about this....plus you all know me and you are a great group of people.. i'm having a really bad day today.

  all of a sudden it seems to have "hit" me that i had cancer.

  i've been all clear for about 3 months, but all the while i've been terrified of it returning.

  Sirona sweetheart - please don't wait that long. I have been up for endless nights with pain, pressure and cracking in my ear. I go to the doctor tomorrow for more antibiotics. I have an appointment on August 7th for a root canal. (why are you having an extraction?)

  I'm relieved to hear that you have decided to get something done about that tooth. But the time frame you are talking about is awhile yet and I guarantee you'll be on several courses of antibiotics. You yourself said that the ones you just finished didn't work. You already need more. (like me)

  Sirona, I am very familiar with cancer. Both my parents had it. Mom survived two breast cancer bouts. (two of her sisters died from the same thing), and my father had skin cancer. I was with Mom when she was going through it and it took all her mental and physical energy. You do NOT need something fixable like this tooth dragging your system down. Repetitive antibiotics are not good/healthy, and yet if you go without, you will end up like me - ear AND sinus infections - big time. (which will lead to no sleep, fevers etc) You do NOT need that right now honey. PLEASE - get the tooth dealt with - soon. I have suffered for a good year because no one knew what was causing the infection and pain.

  Please... please do not wait until after you move. Please. You cannot afford to allow yourself to be worn down like that - especially when it is totally unnecessary.

  Just really concerned about ya love......

  You could bring up the idea of Distance Education. That way he could take the courses at home, either by computer or correspondence.

  I agree with the others. You will add to his stress by pushing. You'll never find happiness if you allow money to get between you. Respect his issues just as you would like him to respect yours.

  the congregation was always being told to root out any person who was engaged in wrongdoing.

  if it was a best friend or even a family member, you were to inform the elders so that they could look into the matter and investigate any possible sin.

  the elders pretty much told the brothers that those knowing of a sin and not reporting it were as guilty as the person that actually sinned!

  Nope. I don't believe in judging others. I had enough to clean up in my own head to bother with the activities of others.

  Now, as a Mom - I HAVE called the police on 2 occasions when I overheard the kids talking about a huge fight planned at a certain place that may include weapons. Even they don't know I called. But that is something I couldn't have on my conscience if it occured and a kid was injured or died 'cos I kept my mouth shut. The police DID show up and broke those 'gatherings' up before harm was done btw.

  Masculinity? A man who does not have a beer belly or is listed in the obese section. Along with this, one who displays manners and a healthy amount of self-confidence, humor and insight. Cleanliness goes without saying - but I said it anyway.

  while i wholeheartedly join in with the backslapping and thundering applause being accorded the relentless and selfless efforts of bill bowen and his silentlambs lobby and other men of integrity and conscience---some still, some no longer, associated with the "christian" congregation of jehovah's witnesses--- in exposing the vileness and hypocrisy of certain of the wts's policies, i am moved to hoist a separate and personal tribute to a woman who has turned out to have more integrity and character and courage and conviction than most people with whom i've ever been acquainted and, more on point, than virtually any of the generally good and decent jws i ever knew in my 30 year association---male or female, regardless his "rank" or his/her jw "pedigree.".
