As a JW Kid Were You Expected To Get Baptised By Your Parents/ Congregation

here is a quote from a ex-jw about this subject, i myself had alot of pressure from my family to get baptised and finally gave in at 14, wish i had left them a present on the way out of the pool that floated..at the dudley assembley hall .

i can't justify my entire family (parents, sisters, aunts, uncles, grandma) and friends shunning me because i chose not to uphold a dedication i made at twelve years old.

sure it was my "choice" to get baptized.

I'd say you start getting seriously pressured into baptism around 12 years old up ...

i've been pretty much mia from jwn, email and messages this whole summer.

once school let out, i had the kids home from school (and daycare) all day every day.

summer was awesome.

She can't possibly be a Witness --- the Watchtower among other things is a "CHARITABLE" corporation and wouldn't allow one of their elderly members go through such a terrible and sad situation ... plus... it seems she is a widow ... they'd have double reason to help her in obedience to God's command to help specially widows and orphans.

Getting rid of the Book Study - a way to isolate the JW?

the book study meeting was cancelled a while back.

the watch tower said that it was to provide for a family study night and high gas costs.

hmmm.. i thought about the cancellation of the book study meeting after listening to another pastor discus his mega-churchs dependence on small circle groups.

I have never found the words to put how I felt about my children, but you nailed it. That's exactly how I felt. They were like 2 & 3 the last time they attended a meeeting the KH (mostly to keep grandma happy).

Keep on reading and searching the Watchtower CORPORATION from its very beginnings and its founders, there is a vast of original publications in the net that you can access - their own very publications. Don't put God and Jesus to the test ... put the Watchtower CORPORATION to the test. Keep praying to the Heavenly Father, ask Jesus to show you the way. Perhaps one way to engage your wife is to come up with a "goal" to read old WT publications since Russells' time (late 1800) - but do not suggest anything contrary to the Watchtower CORPORATION teachings, let her own mind make the conclusions.

Okay ... why does it matter???? LOL What that info has to do with the preaching of the GOSPEL of Jesus? How you obtain salvation by knowing that "watchtower fact" ... cleary like said before ... they use this kind of BS to IMPRESS JWs ...

Gosh the other day my poor mom ... was telling me about some new light about goverments ... I don't remember very well the issue, but I felt so sorry for her ... I asked mom what does it have to do with Salvation, where is the Gospel in that? How that info help you live a better life, be a better neighbor, feed orphans and widows !!!!?????

hungary has introduced a new law governing the registration of religious groups that critics charge discriminates against minority faiths, and strips st margaret's anglican church in budapest of its status as a religious organisation.. .

on 14 july the hungarian parliament adopted "the right to freedom of conscience and religion and on the status of churches, religions and religious communities" law, by a vote of 254 in favour to 43 opposed.. .

Exactly, the JWs claim tax exemptions all over the world without giving back to the community. I am sure they will cry out ... PERSECUTION!!!!

you no longer believed that the watchtower organization was the truth, and that you were no longer going to go to the meetings or service?.

Where to go? Assuming you are leaving the Watchtower CORPORATION and not your belief in God, you go straight to Jesus! Ask Jesus to come into your lives, to find you.
