  Little sis got shunned today by big sis

  i called my sister today and they said "we were shunned today.

  " normally this is a bit of a non event after all how many faders get shunned on a regular basis.

  i asked who it was and they said "big sis" now this is a shock.

  a key factor is that the witnesses really believe that the bible is gods word and that what it contains is there for our instruction.

  I told the baptist church pastor that I'm gay!

  his reaction wasnt as liberal as i hoped it would be.

  he said that we needed to discuss it.

  however, gone are the days where im putting myself in the firing line and not sticking up for myself.

  Don't get discouraged Timothy ... it is a hard issue today's churches, how do you remain faithful to the bible teachings while being a church of grace? ... It is easy to get self-righteous and start judging others by what the bible says specifically about certain subjects - but the list of don'ts is endless and of equal importance in God's eyes ... liars, drunkards, greedy, idolaters, adulterers, fornicators, it is just that we humans think that lying for example is a lesser crime than murder ... so a liar, a greedy person may judge you not knowing that we are all in the same boat. I learned this lesson the hard way Timothy, and I feel so ashamed, I was being self-righteous but God dealt with me, I blame it on my JW upbringing and mentality that sometimes gets a hold of me ... anyway... I told a pastor my concern about pastors marrying gay couples and that that was my reason for not being sure to become a member of the church I attend ... the Pastor mentioned that homosexuality was among a long list of things but we somehow have assigned a level of severity to the "sins" and we kind of push homesexuality to the top - who has given us permission to do that? Not Jesus ... he broke the rules all the time in order to put the person first ... he touched the leper, healed on the Sabbath, talked to women, condemned the religious leaders for puting mercy on the side ... anyway ... guess what? I was living with someone without being married while I was worrying about homosexuals ... HELLO! big "sinner" and hypocrite according to the book that I was yet I was being self-righteous ... the Holy Spirit convicted me big time and in a second a learned the biggest lesson of my life so far ... as a JW I was taught that I have the god-given right to judge others, as a Christian I have learned not to usurp God's place as Judge. So if you talk to the Pastor just know that sometimes we are being self-righteous and we don't know it, we are completely blind to that fact until God deals with us.

  I have a question, please re Matthew 24:45

  one of the most interesting aspect of bible i have found is pronouns.. all i know about foreign language i get off the internet.

  so my question, for them who know, is the "who" at matthew 24:45,. does it imply "which one?

  " or does it tilt toward "describe".. in other words does it mean, identify, or does it mean, getting a profile.. in english we can say "who" is that person in the crowd?.

  N.Drew ... you find the meaning of the parables of Jesus within the same bible ... like explain by AGuest ...

  Whom will He teach knowledge? And whom will He make to understand the message? Those just weaned from milk? Those just drawn from the breasts? For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little (Isaiah 28:9-10).

  You have to read through the bible, search answers from GOD, not from any human wisdom, to which God laughs at ...

  I just can't do this anymore

  for years now after my exit from the wtbts i have searched for god.

  as i have previously mentioned in other threads i looked into many other religions, including druidry, zen and tibetan buddhism (not really a religion), asatru, native american shamanism, kemetic orthodoxy, gnosticism and pandeism.

  Don't feel bad, life is beautiful... it is matter of faith when it comes to God... believe in something that cannot be seen or proven but that you know that you know it is real for you ... even Jesus felt forsaken by the father (sorry if this comment is offensive right now), emotions like yours are understandable ... I go up and down whenever I see the bad that goes on in this world ... I still believe and I make reference to Jesus feeling forsaken because once I was feeling like you ... wondering what's real, where's God, has he forgotten about us, gee, thousands of years, generations after generations of Christians waiting, not just Christian believers, other people and cultures in the past have looked up and waited for someone to come back ... it is a fact that cannot be denied ... and I cannot explain it but I know what happened to me ... in my despair of those doubting days I was taken to Isaiah 49, specifically this part

  " 15 “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast
  and have no compassion on the child she has borne?
  Though she may forget,
  I will not forget you!
  16 See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;

  This is reference to Jesus ... his hands bear the marks/engraving of the nails ...

  Sometimes the more we search for answer the more confused we get ... I have learned to stop and just look up the sky, take a deep, deep breath and let my spirit say a little prayer ... not my will, but your will...

  Gosh I was never sure ... I was like 13 years old when I overheard my dad telling my mom that I was going to be destroyed in Armageddon ... I don't remember why thou ... they thought I was sleeping but I was just pretending ... Now, I don't know why ... I have "eternity" in my mind ...

  It mentions not family members but it mentions "brother" that includes "sister" too ... and the WTC teaches that family members (dad, mom, bro, sis) become our "spiritual brothers and sisters" and the spiritual takes precedent over carnal/natural family relations so one has the godly rightful duty to shun your own mom, dad, brother, sister, cousins, nephews, uncles, aunts, friends, etc. That's how it is play in latin america, I don't know in other countries. They also play a lot with the kinds of love ... AGAPE and PHILEO ... within the congregation including your relatives AGAPE takes precedent than PHILEO ... so when you shun your parents or siblings you're showing AGAPE love ... this is another subliminal brainwashing tactic of the WTC ... I don't know if they preached about this anymore but it was big back in the 70/80's ...

  gosh, I don't think the WCG and others have blood in its hands like the Watchtower Corporation for its blood doctrine ... it is a HUGE liability for them right now ... also sex abuse coverage ... at least here in the USA this type of lawsuits would really really damage it ... for this reason they will never put anything in writing as recanting their doctrines like the WCG, TBN, P.Robertson, etc., have done in the past.

  we know that the wbts owns a huge amount of real estate.

  they are selling properties in brooklyn and they are immersed in money.

  plus, they are always mentioning how easy it is to pay them cash or with checks or credit cards and even debit!
