@ Pterist ... "The written word in the NT can produce sound or bad doctrines. The living WORD changes lives."
exactly!

then the trinity brochure came out and i almost immediately became upset at its intellectual dishonesty, as by this time i was very familiar with the early church fathers and recognized that the brochure distorted heavily their views.. .

i am new here and this is my first post although i have lurked here for a couple years.
i started having doubts about the org back then and my curiosity overcame my fear of so-called apostate websites so here i am.
i just resigned being an elder 2 weeks ago.
Congratulations! I am glad your child is still little.

WT history is what? 120 years old... The history of Christianity is pushing what? 2,000+ years old ... What I see in my personal experience is that you don't just read the bible, let the bible read you...read it for what it is, listen to it, then this become a seed in you and gives fruit...if you try yo understand, dissect the bible in the flesh, it is impossible, for me it is a spiritual study, I just feed myself with the word, plant it in my heart and mind and suddenly blooms in me and only for my personal benefit, it is truly a river that flows from within me then if I want to share the gospel I give my testimony of how my life changed when I came out of the religion mindset and pursued a personal relationship with Jesus who takes me to The Father. If you read the bible to try to prove or disprove God, or to prove points of view, forget it, the Spirit will not be there, God has an appointed, set time for his plans and purposes, for us right now as believers is to do the commands of Jesus until he comes again. The commands are not many, they are to the point..love God, your neighbor as yourself, do charity, share the gospel with others (which is the gift of salvation not a bunch of magazines and books) remain faithful.
if the world is going to come to an end doesn't it drain one's motivation to make the world a better place?
is religion just giving people a free pass to apathy and letting them off the hook?
.
Some people fear the end because they don't know that we already have everlasting life when you become a follower of Jesus The Christ, it is hard to explain in my personal case I know I am walking into eternity and instead of slowing me down it has opened endless possibilities, I look forward to the future, to what my children will become, how big my business will get, whom I will show the way. by faith I have received the gift of everlasting life and know that whether I live or die when Jesus comes back to the earth I am in Him already thus I live. I don't fear the end as prophecied in the bible, the end is not for believers, the end is for unbelievers this according to my Christian faith that I know profess.
am i the only one crying?.
just lois.
Loved it....one of my favorite artist ever
i had just became a witness and a guy i worked with, who was also a jw, told me a story that actually made me laugh and i think it upset him a bit.
the storys were almost always in the third person.
it went as follows.. this brothers wife and him were sitting at the kingdom hall on the end seats of the row next to the back of the room.
There is a Smurf story in every country...lol... I once made up a story so my mom would not take me back to conduct this particular bible study...lol...lol...lol....really...
recently there was quite a buzz at the local hall of people applying to be a specially approved candidate to attend an international convention overseas.
one person i knew applied to go to the assembly next year in south africa.
she was elated to find she and her daughter-in-law were accepted for the south africa site.
They get comps, rebates at the end of the year like any other company or business.

You know the word apostate refrain me from posting this in my Facebook page ...this will make my JW family not to open it ...lol
any gov agency or private company that has private personal info of customers/clients should be aware.
its common knowledge to long time witnesses that jws will violate customer privacy laws and rules when they see something a customer does or buys that they think jw congregation elders should know about .
thats right they will spy for the elders.. .
Well, I think you can tell them they will be party poopers (but they will still eat the food or cake the next day when the celebration is over)
i thought i might take a few minutes to sit down with the members here and have a cup of coffee with you, and introduce myself and my daughter debbie (petra), and i am john posting as (vulcan).
now i can't type worth anything so thats why i have petra do it.-we would like to thank mr. simon for his hospitality and if it is easier for us to post using the login atlantis uses, then that is ok!

"When Petra's mother was alive she wanted our daughter to have long beautiful hair, and sometimes I think Petra has her hair long to honor her mothers memory." This is so sweet ... Greeetigs to you all ...
