by Franklin Massey inin the simplified english edition of the july 15th, 2011 watchtower, in an article that warns jws about apostate influences, the following quote is given as a reason to stick close to the watchtower organization:.

Nervous break down because of being a JW?
by easyreader1970 ini know it's sometimes hard to pinpoint causes of things when there could be several potential causes.
i am wondering if anyone here knows anyone (or maybe you yourself) who has had a nervous breakdown directly or indirectly because of being associated with the jehovah's witnesses.
i am not on the verge yet, i don't feel like, but then again maybe these things just snap in a person.

@Scarred for life .... amazing how stories are repeated everywhere in the world, the ones I know ended up in the streets, jails, and I am talking about girls, some boys turned gay, well perhaps they just accepted their sexuality but not before creating terrible chaos in their lives ...

OMG! What! Are they serious????
Sad but true ...and the Watchtower CROOKPORATION knows it .... It is not a lie if you believe it .... LOL!
When they say "never dissapointed US" by "US" they mean the Board of Directors not regular JWs ... no matter what happens they are secure in their penthouses with maid and chauffer services. 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' (book of Revelation)

New court docs for Menlo Park KH scandal
by Juan Viejo2 ini've been fighting computer problems for over a week, but i finally got a new article up at ex-jw.com about the status of the court case in san francisco.. the plaintiffs will be going to court this week and possibly again in ten days.
the big issue is the bank account statements and signature files.
plaintiffs claim that defendants opened up unauthorized bank accounts and allegedly forged the then current coboe / ceo's signature.

I've stopped my bible study but....
by PenelopePaige inthe lady i studied with asked if it would be okay if she still brought the magazines by.
i said of course because i do love the awake and watchtower.
well, when she came by last week, she gave me the mags and then as we stood around chit-chatting, i realized we were basically still having the study, only we were standing up instead of sitting in the living room.

Do you know what it means to be "assertive"?" It would be a good idea to search for articles and free self-help seminars online.
Standing up for your rights and not being taken advantage of is one definition of being assertive.
It also means communicating what you really want in a clear fashion, respecting your own rights and feelings and the rights and feelings of others.
Assertion is an honest and appropriate expression of one's feelings, opinions, and needs.
What causes people to avoid being assertive?
Most people are not assertive for fear of displeasing others and of not being liked. However, although you may avoid some immediate unpleasantness by not being assertive, you could also jeopardize the relationship in the long run if you refuse to assert yourself and then feel taken advantage of over and over again.
1. Basic Assertion
This is a simple, straightforward expression of your beliefs, feelings, or opinions. It's usually a simple "I want" or "I feel" statement.
2. Empathic Assertion
This conveys some sensitivity to the other person. It usually contains two parts- a recognition of the other person's situation or feelings, followed by a statement in which you stand up for your rights.
"I know you've really been busy, but I want to feel that our relationship is important to you. I want you to make time for me and for us."
3. Escalating Assertion
This occurs when the other person fails to respond to your basic assertion and continues to violate your rights. You gradually escalate the assertion and become increasingly firm. It may even include the mention of some type of resulting action on your part, made only after several basic assertive statements. For example, "If you don't complete the work on my car by 5:00 tomorrow, I'll be forced to call the Better Business Bureau."

Excerp from an article on the crossing of the Red Sea
N ow I want to mention Mount Sinai. When Moses fled from Egypt, he dwelt in the land of Midian. There he married Zipporah, one of the seven daughters of Reuel or Jethro who were descendants of Abraham and Keturah. And Moses worked as a shepherd for his father-in-law, Jethro, who was the priest and leader of Midian. He knew that land like the back of his hand. He knew where to find good pastures and water. And he knew how to get there from Egypt in a hurry. Moses was taking the Israelites to Midian by the shortest possible route - through the Red Sea. He wasn't marching around in circles at the Gulf of Suez. Moses had an appointment to meet God on Mount Horeb, in Midian.
Let's read Moses' Commission from God in Exodus 3:1-2. "Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the back of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb. And the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed".
Where was Moses? He was in the land of Midian which is by the Gulf of Aqaba in Arabia. He was standing on Mount Horeb, which is Mount Sinai, with a flock of sheep on the backside of the desert. Mount Sinai is not in the Sinai Peninsula at all, but across the Red Sea in the land of Midian.
This is confirmed by the apostle Paul in Galatians 4:22-26, "It is written: Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. He who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise. Which is an allegory: for these women type the two covenants; the one from the Mount Sinai, which genders to bondage, which is Agar.
For this Agar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and types Jerusalem which now is, and is enslaved to the Law with her children. But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all".
Did you hear what Paul said? "This Agar is Mount Sinai in Arabia". If Exodus 3:1 and Galatians 4:25 place Mount Sinai in Arabia, it's probably still there. And the maps in our Bibles are wrong because they portray Mount Sinai in the Peninsula between the two gulfs.
______________
(Me)
and since ...
"All Scripture (OT) is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
What should I personally learn from this story in the bible ???...

Does Jesus discredit himself?
by MrFreeze inmost people on this forum believe that the global flood never really occurred.
that being said, jesus references the flood of noah's day.
wasn't jesus around during that time period?

Jesus used parables and stories to "hide," or embed in them, code, the meaning of things. Whenever you read Jesus saying the word "like" in the bible pay attention and ask and ask and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the meaning which will be usually found in the same bible. Remember the rule ... a little here ... a little there ... Isaiah 28 ...
Sometimes I wonder of the time when I get a chance to hear from Jesus and learn how far off we were from the meaning of his parables or stories ... ... that's why in the meantime my focus is on DOING His commands ...
Deuteronomy 29:29 says, “The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.” ...
Following His attitude, words, thoughts, and deeds—and doing it unapologetically, unwaveringly, fearlessly with His help.
