Mercedes, Mercedes, Mercedes ... my dear child. I had my children while I was married, they are now 13 and 14 - they are beautiful and truly a blessing from God but required a lot of work and money. My dear finish school first, then settle your relationship with your fiance (although you call him your "man") and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not try to undo your perceived wrongdoings with having a child ... no new child will ever replaced the other 2 ....please GOD'S GRACE IS ENOUGH FOR YOU RIGHT NOW. JESUS' DIED FOR YOU, HIS BLOOD IS ENOUGH. The fact that you are "regreting" what you did in the past tells me you are a good candidate for God's forgiveness. Just confess your sins or wrongdoings to HIM, ask sincerely for forgiveness and be cleansed in the Bood of the Lamb JesusChrist. DO NOT TRY TO UNDO SOMETHING THAT ONLY A HIGHER POWER CAN DO FOR YOU. There will be plenty of time to have beautiful, loving children that you will be able to afford and love unconditionally.

'Apostates' being labelled 'mentally diseased'. Is discrimination against mentally disabled people by using it as a 'hate crime' term?
by punkofnice insorry if i'm not expressing myself very well but i wasn't allowed an education due to wbt$ regulations.. what i'm trying to say is that the wbt$ using the term 'mentally diseased' as an insulting term against those fictitious 'apostates' they want everyone to 'hate', is surely very discriminatory against those that have a genuine mental illness.. it's like calling a white person that has caught a suntan the 'n' word isn't it?
offensive, inappropriate and utterly destructive.. in the uk the press can be pretty sensitive about such name calling that implies that mental disease is somehow to be used as a hate crime word.. is it worth writing to the press to complain about such discrimination?.

A couple of female pioneers in my country even helped my mother packed the house and 6 kids and moved to another town in the middle of the night while my dad was away at work. They deemed it necessary for my mother to move away from all the non-JW family to safeguard her spiritual life. They can be very relentless if they want to. They don't care about splitting families. Both sides of extended families, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends were taken away in a night. They put us in the garage of the kingdom hall of the city my mom moved us to ... horrible conditions, it was like living in the open. My life was never the same. At moments like this when I remember painful experinces growing up JW --- I really hate them.

I am sure the WTCrookporation will have a field with this not realizing that the same thing might come to bite them.
During my lunch break today I was reading Mathew 10:26
"But don't be afraid of those who threaten you. For the time is coming when everything that is covered will be revealed, and all that is secret will be made known to all." and this is my assurance that the WT CORPORATION one day will be stripped naked and seen by ALL THE WORLD, not just us. God is just.

JW's Thoughts on Medical Cannabis
by bushido8000 ini've wondered this for sometime.
to all of the jws on the forum, what is your opinion on medical cannabis?
i support it for a couple of reasons.. 1. i've battled clinical depression since age 9. after my anti-depressants stopped working when i was 21, i heard about cannabis' positive effects on depression through the internet and a couple of documentaries so i tried it.

I think for medical reasons, prescribed by a doctor, it is okay. My experience with loud Christians in the media is that they are not an accurate example or reflection of true Christians churches, we are too busy being Jesus's hands and feet to help "the orphan and widow" so to say, the people you see advocating stuff on TV or radio are very cultish, not different from JWs.
As far as your depression ... I was cured of mine when I finally I cut loose from that organization. I believe that treating emotional problems with Marijuana will not result in a cure but just keep masking it. There is cure for your depression, because, like in my case, I suspect yours it is because your upbringing in that organization. You need a lot of positive reinforcement, personal acceptance and know that you are loved just like you are. Believe in yourself, believe that you deserve better. Believe that you have the right to be who you are and that you are only accountable to God who knows your heart.

Expectations of the New System: Classic example of JW stupidity
by roxanesophia inthough i've stopped studying and have no interest anymore in the religion, bits of conversation with jw's keep coming back to me to confirm why that was the best decision.
like this particularly idiotic belief:.
since the jw's believe the faithful men of bible stories will be resurrected into "the new system" , i remember a discussion about 'how awesome it's going to be to meet job" or "you can marry one of job's sons!

Your first experience with Babylon the Great!!! That's funny!
The first church I went to was Lakewood Church, they are non-denominational, I used to attend both Spanish and English LOVED IT - then a few other small churches my friends or coworkers invited me to. I also went to Second Baptist - LOVED IT, then I started to ask God to guide me to a good bible based church near home where my kids could also meet other teenagers (they wanted this as Lakewood and Second Baptist were far away from us), so now we are settled at The River United Methodist Church and we cannot be happier. www.theriverumc.com
Methodist are big on serving others ... at least my church is ... amazing! I have to really really think during bible classes or different seminars that I need to take to become a volunteer or servant member ... they don't give me the answers (like in the WT books) I have to read, study the bible citations and answer accordingly, we use no other books, only the bible. Also, all these 3 churches have requested criminal background checks on me in order to volunteer and during the volunteer information sessions they are very explicit at telling you that if you are a child molester or have any kind of problems like this YOU NEED NOT TO APPLY, also that proper authorities will be contacted, either CPS or Police depending on the nature of the abuse discovered (either by parents or volunteers).
The picture the WTC painted of the Christian Churches is not accurate at all and the churches that I have visited resemble more the ones of the new testament than the JWs.

A Course in Miracles
by semelcred ini've just started reading a course in miracles and wondered if any one here has any thoughts or any contact with this book?
as an ex-jw i find it hard to accept reading any other religious publication but i find the idea of the ego's attempt at separation as the real issue against the idea of original sin a fascinating concept.
also the book was channeled!
