Welcome my child! Let me call you that as I am old enough to be your mother, I think. I feel, I hurt for you but there is also a great joy at knowing that you may finally get free from that cult. I am so sorry your mother treated you that way, my JW parents were awful to me too all while pretenting to be role models in the congregation - but aren't we glad that's our past and thanks God he had created another day called "Today" and "Today" we can be free and exercise all the rights we have as human beings!!!! The world is your stage Kitty!

My daugther's nick name is Kitty - she loves cats. My daughter is 14 years old and for a while the doctors thought she may have either Asperger's or Tourette syndrome but thanks to medicine (only a round of pills for panic attacks) and lots of faith and prayers the experts didn't find anything wrong with her after all. I was so surprise because you wouldn't believe it after seing the video diary I kept for her. But lots of my friends were praying for her and I have already found Jesus when the worst came and we weathered it like the victorious people we are in Christ. She was like that since around 4 years old but it only got worst every year ... Anyway, I totally understand you and feel so bad for you, you needed LOTS of love, of reassurance, of company, friendship, shelter, nurture, you needed people on your side - but like I said before ... thanks God for "TODAY" not yesterday, not tomorrow, "TODAY" you can start making a difference in your own life and you are on the right track (thinking of leaving). Please take the advice of some of the people here, some are ex-elders, read the books they recommend, and my only thing is DON'T LET THE WATCHTOWER TAKE "GOD" AWAY FROM YOU. You need a higher power in your life.

I am sending you my best wishes for restored health, may you be made whole again, (may you be born again - it is possible you know!)

It's the closest thing to the Truth...

this is what my jw wife has been saying as of late when it seems like she has no way to defend the doctrines of 1914, blood, as well as their false predictions, etc.. i've seen on this board where others have encountered this come back as well.

it seems that the witnesses are getting a little slack and it makes me wonder how they can justify their position of their religion being the only true religion.. first off, being the "closest thing to the truth" implies that the truth itself is known.

therefore, if the truth is known, why settle for being in a religion that is 'the closest thing to it?

Dear Lord! There is no such thing as "closest to the truth" when it comes to God things in my opinion ... I smoke but I didn't inhale type of thinking ... LOL!!!!

What Stupid Things Were You Counseled For?

i've always been told that i have a very good personality, that i'm humorous, etc.. one elder called me over and said that i was "smiling too much".

the other elders talked to the elder who counseled me and he came back to say that i should be like i was .

I forgot ... once when I was like 9 years old I made a gesture with my hands and fingers in the kingdom hall out of boredom in the middle of the meeting, I was told that I shouldn't be doing that and was explained that my gesture simulated the sex act ... mind you ... I didn't know anything about the "act" where things were supposed to be, or that certain thing has to penetrate another ..., to give you an idea my game was like playing the "itsy bitsy spider" ... well, I got sex ed 101 right there in the kingdom hall. Afterwards when I alone I kept doing it again and again and again trying to figure out how that resembled sex ... WHY this people ALWAYS think that they can read your mind, heart and intentions and ALWAYS one's intention is to be disrespectful to their god?

I was like 15 and my sister 13, someone saw us in a public pool and innocently talking, playing with wordly scholmates, we were called into a meeting and blah blah blah, we brought reproach to Jah . blah blah blah... it got to the point where we were asked if we were going to serve Jah, submit to the rules, or what? blah blah blah, my sister said NO --- LOL! She is the only one to this point that has never been baptized and she is 38.

p.s., you DO realize that many Halls have PHYSICAL libraries right? Teary's old Hall had all of the Watchtower bound volumes going back to 1879, in addition to many other 50+ year old books. If the Witnesses were deliberately trying to 'cover up' their history, then why allow the Kingdom Halls to have these big physical libraries?

Because they know that no one reads them, in all the congregations I attended they were there mostly for decoration purposes, everybody knew they were old, outdated stuff and funny how no one really is into them ...

Because they NEVER imagined that the time would come when people would awake and really start looking into these libraries with eyes wide open and list/document all their errors and false prophecies.

one of the jehovahs witness doctrines that many of us have had trouble believing is that the seven angels trumpet blasts described in revelation applied to events that occurred in the 1920s at seven assemblies held around the world at the time when judge rutherford was the president of the watchtower society.. the revelation climax book (1988) contains this summary on page 173:.

"They were blasting something in the 1920's, but most of it was out their ass/arse!"

Makes me mad when I read that stuff because it reminds me of my family still there believing their lies and shunning my poor niece that wants nothing to do with that Org after being sexually abused for years by a female pioneer, and by 2 circuit overseers.

omg, one of my friends who hasn't removed me from her list eventhough i shoot down all the jw propaganda she sends me, sent me an email about phil donahue visiting a kingdom hall, with pics and all.. they claim he said that jw have done more for human rights during ww2 then any other group in america.. is this true?

has anyone else heard about this?.

i want to send phil the letter where the jw's wrote to hilter to tell them they don't like the jews either.. .

We need to send Phil copy of the literature where Watchtower BANS free speech among family members.

The only reason WTC fights the goverment on these issues ("branding") is so they can exist and clear the way to sell their books and magazines ... they are NOT really interested in the human, soul saving factor, it is only busine$$.

Also, since ex-JWs tell people to look into the Watchtower history, they are counteracting this by them providing "selective" historical stuff, in these way any JW doesn't have to look for the information as the FDS is "lovingly" providing it ...

The last thing we want is cooperationg from the Mexican drug cartels ... although someone that claims to be a prophet in Australia has said about the Mexican/South American drug cartels rising to create trouble for the USA but on a big scale ... apparently many native americans (Mexico, Central and South America) come from the Phoenicians ... he wrote about way before Mexico became what it is now as far as the drug cartels wars going on there ... I think this person is of the line that think that USA is Ephraim in bible prophesy... nevertheless what he wrote caught my attention ...
