Borg monitoring of this board

are the borg still monitoring this board (and others)?

if so they seem to be allowing a large amount of time before taking any retributive action.

has anyone heard of any follow thru from the borg from being identified here recently?

Considering the policy of theocratic warfare and the Bible examples of spying on your enemies, I find it easy to believe that the WTS monitors this board and others. You need to consider what the benefits of the time and effort required to do this would be. Finding active elders, Bethelities, or other "important" JW's was already mentioned. The benefits of them weeding out "wolves in sheep's clothing" is pretty obvious. What probably scares them more is the potential threat of an organized apostate movement against them.

It's no secret that trying to collectively organize apostates to fight against the Borg is similar to trying to herd wild house cats together for some purpose. People who leave the WTS are often anxious to put as much distance as they can with the WTS, not to stay around and do battle with it. However, all this could change someday, as the collective anger we share against the Borg is a force to be feared by them. All it would take, IMHO is some really outrageous action against ex-JW's that everyone could relate to. I don't think the WTS ever wants to see that happen, not so much that we are superhumans but they know better than to stir up a hornet's nest.

Also, by knowing their enemies by reading this board and others, they can plan their damage control strategies. They are sure to get tip off's from what they read here that will slap them in the face in the near future. Look at the UN library card scandal for example.

I don't think they are really that interested in individuals and their "hedonistic" lives (at least that is how the WTS sees us) but if they ever found someone in the online world who had an amazing ability to organize people and rally them for a cause, you can bet the would be making a file on them.

Finally, I think they need apostates. Look at the example of America after the evil Soviet Union bit the dust and collapsed. There was a tremendous war machine looking for an enemy to fight. Our government had to invent one to keep the status quo. The Society needs an enemy, but apostates are only a pain in the ass now, not anything dangerous. If we were dangerous, they could use that to whip up more hate and motivate dubs to action. As it is now, there is more motive for dubs to visit McDonald's on a Saturday morning than go door to door. If they get desperate enough, they will make us all out to be the reincarnation of evil. I can hardly wait.

" they are like memories to me, and my mind can create something when i sleep with the most vivid colors, feelings, sounds, cold or damp or wet or smothering heat.

Drive a chopper or wickedly cool car, even if you have to rent it. When you were a dub, you were under constant pressure to own and use a vehicle for ?service work.? Screw that, I say you might as well ride in style at least once. The best impractical service car I ever owned was a hopped up, Porsche eating 70 Z-28 Camero that always got me a police escort when I went cruising.
Date somebody ?dangerous.? Wake up tied to a bed with a person who has more tattoos than you can count will give you something to tell your grandkids about someday. Of course, dating the ?dangerous types? will make you realize what jerks they are, and make you less likely to pass up someone who you are really compatible with but doesn?t scare the neighbors.
Pack your bags and see the world. It is easier to do once you leave the Borg and have so many choices and opportunities ahead of you. Even if you can?t afford to stay at plush hotels, you can backpack it and travel light, taking advantage of cheap airfares. Hey, maybe you will meet a cool apostate on your travels to score on dating somebody ?dangerous.? Anyway, seeing the world will broaden your horizons and make you a more interesting person. And after being a dub for all those years, you are desperately in need of that!
Live in a cool place. This can be anything from living in a sailboat to having a beautiful little cabin in the mountains. Personally, for the last several months, I?ve enjoyed living in a beach house on the Florida coast. I just love taking walks on the beach everyday. Comfort isn?t as important sometimes as the adventure, and if you want to get out of the boring lifestyle you had as a dub, it is time to live a little.
Take some risks with the type of career you want to try. No point in being stuck the rest of your life as a janitor, Avon salesperson, or other typical JW brainless job. Take the time to figure out what you want to do and try some different approaches to reaching that goal. There are always the boring burger flipping jobs to do later in life, no point starting out there. If you don?t have experience working in the area you want to work in, either get some education under your belt or try volunteer work in some related area that you can use for your resume. Remember, you need to have some fun while doing all this, so don?t really push yourself into busting your ass doing something you hate just to survive. Haven?t you been there, done that already?
Do something besides playing computer games or watching TV. How about pushing your body to its limits by being more physically adventurous. Hey, you don?t have to do rock climbing but get your ass outside and live a bit. You probably got a fat ass from being a dub, sitting at all those Gawd awful boring meetings, secretly snacking on candy and Cheetos. By going out dancing, riding your bike, going hiking, or whatever you can get rid of that flab and feel better about yourself.
Try a few of those forbidden ?vices? you were never allowed as a dub. Have you heard of anyone in here yet complaining that demons took over their mind for taking a few puffs from pot? Is anyone on here complaining that they are having too much sex? Hey, there is a lot of expert advice you can get in this joint about vice. Lol Let the reader use discernment.
Make sure you have your head screwed on right. You probably had to struggle with yourself with all the baked on Watchtower fecal matter on your brain. Time for cleaning the mess up by making sure you know beyond a doubt WHY the WTS is full of it and WHY they did what they did to you. Now you can take the responsibility for reinventing yourself, yourself but that is a pretty tough road to take. Perhaps a little help along the way by a professional therapist or counselor will go a long ways in speeding up the healing process and getting on with a happy life, Borg free.
Do some volunteer work for something that deserves it, not the WTS. You might be broke, but you can give some sweat and time to a cause you believe in. Besides improving the world (which you sure the hell didn?t as a dub) you can allow yourself to be exposed to the real world instead of the make-believe world of the Witnesses. Yes, there is some sad sh*t you will see, but also a lot of incredible people trying to make a positive future.
Learn to sail. Talk to strangers. Take a road trip. Go to apostofests. Climb a mountain. Try scuba diving. Take advantage of your new freedom, the energy, idealism, enthusiasm and willingness to experiment. The Borg no longer enslaves you. This is a time to learn and grow and become fully human, fully alive.

Embarassing moments you witnessed?

Probably the wildest JW moment I ever witnessed was when I was heading for a private home for Saturday field service arrangements. The home was rented by a young recently married couple who were still very..uh frisky. It was a warm summer day and I was the first person to arrive at the home but as I was walking up the steps to knock on the door, others started pulling into the driveway. When I got up on the porch, the door was wide open and I saw the young couple having sex doggy style on their bed (it was a small house and their bedroom door was directly in line with the living room door.) They had no clue I was there and were really going at it, and I had to alert them that in moments other dubs would be on their doorstep! I knocked and said "Did you know we are having a field service meeting at your house right now? He immediately got off of her and rushed to the door but ahem, made a mess on the floor in the process. She was yelling for him to come back to bed (she didn't here me knock) and to give her an orgasm. He got the door shut just in time as the other dubs walked up the porch. A few minutes later, two very red faced Witnesses let the crowd into their house and nobody but me knew what had actually happened. I bet others guessed though because the smell of sex was really heavy in the air. lol

Will the WTS Ban Ectogenesis?

By definition, ectogenesis is the development of life in an artificial environment or artificial womb. Scientists have been working towards creating artificial wombs for decades but it wasn?t until recently that they have had much success. We are now nearing the time when it will become as safe as or even safer for the development of a child in an artificial womb. If you think this is science fiction you better think again.

Why will artificial wombs become popular? Here is some information I read on the topic: (from: http://www.kuro5hin.org/story/2003/10/1/124441/622 )

Women who are diagnosed with Preeclampsia or HEELP early in pregnancy would no longer need to spend months hospitalized or in bed. The only cure for these conditions is delivery of the baby, and right now all that can be done is to keep the woman as immobile as possible until the fetus can survive outside the womb. If an artificial womb was an option, the fetus could be transferred to it while the mother regains her heath.
Artificial wombs will allow women with damaged uteruses (or other medical conditions that make pregnancy dangerous) but viable ovaries to have their own genetic children without resorting to surrogacy, which can bring all sorts of legal hassles into the picture.
Premature babies could be placed in artificial wombs instead of incubators, and allowed to continue development in the proper environment. Currently, mechanical ventilation damages lungs, and many very premature babies end up brain damaged or developmentally delayed due to lack of proper respiration.
From a purely selfish point of view, it would even allow women who simply do not want to be pregnant to have children. Although it is the most natural thing in the world, pregnancy can turn a woman's life upside down in Western society. Careers are interrupted or no longer possible, education must be postponed, and unemployed pregnant women find it almost impossible to find a job other than temp work.
Artificial wombs would be a reasonable and perhaps welcome alternative to abortion.

Ethical Issues Surrounding Artificial Wombs

If artificial wombs provide safer environments than natural ones, it might be possible for pregnant women to be forced by the courts to have their fetuses placed in artificial wombs instead. In the case of a crack addict mother, this is probably not a bad thing, but given the nature of our court system, a social worker could see a pregnant woman wearing a seat belt improperly or performing a risky activity, and have the fetus removed from her for its own good.
Combine artificial wombs with cloning technology and a donor egg, and gay males can actually have their own biological children. While many people would see this as something amazing and wonderful, right wing conservatives and the ultra-religious would become apoplectic.
Health insurance companies might encourage or even require that pregnancies occur this way, simply because it would be cheaper for them in the long run.
Companies might attempt to write clauses into employment contracts stating that if a pregnancy interferes with work, then the fetus must be transferred into an artificial womb. While the average fast food clerk, secretary or computer programmer might not have to worry about that, female executives or laborers would.
Would mothers feel less attached to babies to whom they did not give birth to?
It would be easier for researchers to harvest fetal tissue for research, giving rise to numerous ethical and legal issues.
Could this lead to eugenics?
Would their be any complications or developmental issues for the fetus before or after birth due to things that might be missing from an artificial womb, such as maternal heartbeat, hormones generated by mood, touch, etc.

You can bet the WTS will have something to say about this. It is hard to read them sometimes though because they will for example allow organ transplants but will flip flop on blood technology issues. I bet though they will be against it, and I think likewise that some of you individually will be also.

Personally, I think it is a good thing and it will become a standard part of medical science. What worries me though is the social consequences and poor choices of individuals.

You have a good point XJW about our apostate crew being able to accomplish much after the partying. Even if we were building a "Beer Hall" I would be worried about getting hit from falling bottles of suds raining down from the rafters, lol.

I found out today that a few of our Canadian ex-dubs are planning something along the lines of the great ex-JW campout. That should be a fun event if they pull it off. I did a bit of search on haunted houses for rent, and found out that any real haunted house is evidently been commercialized to make a buck. But there are haunted places that are either free to go to or low cost, so that might be an option. Ideally, it would be fun to find a haunted Kingdom Hall and use it for the party. hehe
