datelines presentation of the watchtowers child abuse issue was a case study in the black art of media propaganda.. from the very beginning of the presentation dateline was intent on giving the public a negative impression of jehovahs witnesses by portraying us all as oddball crackpots whose religion revolves around the doctrine that we dont celebrate birthdays and that all non-believers are possessed by the devil and that we want them all to die.

What you don't seem to grasp, YK, is that the pedophilia problem is more important than a mere positive image that you so desperately cling to. What is more important to you? Sending a good image to the public, or exposing the corrupt org's (as you said so yourself) problem (s) (as you said so yourself)? Which, indeed, do you find more important? Changing the policy that allows rapists to walk freely, or have a picture-perfect image of the WT? I pray that you answer this one correctly, YK.
Whether the image Dateline projected of the WT was positive or not is completely irrelevant. In this situation, the question to be answered is : Does the ends justify the means? Is it worth it to smear the WT's image in order to change their disgusting policy? Is it worth it to have less converts in order to expose the molesters for who they are?
Before you point the obvious fact that I couldn't care less that Dateline smeared the Wt's image, I strongly suggest you analyze your priorities.

Wow, YK, your insight really impresses me. After all, it's completely unreasonable that we be upset and frustrated about pedophiles going from door-to-door and being respected and loved by their fellow peers while those who suffered get shunned and put aside. Gee, I guess we are overreacting.
Fellow posters, I demand that we back off this whole issue and give the pedophile issue a rest. It's not worth getting angry over little girls getting raped by their daddies... or boys getting molested by faithful sisters in the congregation. Let us stop this useless frustration and let's drown our sorrows and any conscience we may have with gallons upon gallons of wine.
After all, if YK says so, it must be the truth... right? Right?

by peterstride ini was able to digitize, and compress the entire dateline nbc show into the smallest file i could manage.
