Flat Stanley
by searcher inflat stanley is spending christmas with me here in lincolnshire, after which he will do a whirlwind tour of the area collecting local information and pictures to be sent off.
he arrived without luggage, preliminary checking seems to indicate that it was sent to cleveland
stanley will resume his travels in the new year as soon as we receive details of his next stop.

Fortress Kingdom Halls
by Gill ina new kingdom hall has just been built very close to where we live.
it is taking on the appearance of fort knox now, much like some other khs near us.
the high fences with nasty sharp bits are just going up and there are floodlights on at night.

We didn't have the high fences or razor wire around any of our buildings. But I do remember being told that the Witnesses got cheaper insurance on the property because there were no windows.

I had to get rid of my En Vogue CD because my father said they were dressed like 1920's prostitutes on the cover. Funny though, that my father could keep an album that had a completely nude woman on the cover. I had to get rid of my Enya CDs (yes, I like Enya) because my mother heard a rumour that she was a "witch." More crazy stuff like that.

but if someone is a direct threat to children, raping them, they won't say why?
it just does'nt make sense.

I was only 7 when that announcement was made, but I remember it. I recall all the hushed whispers in the rumour mill about apostacy. We were warned about how Satan could reach even to the GB. *rolls eyes back into head*

It was definitely an eye-opener when it came to their stance on neutrality, and how the brothers in Malawi suffered and died, while in other countries, the WTS broke the law and didn't remain neutral at all. That was one thing that really stuck out in my mind, because I'd already learned a lot from this site.

What would you say to a JW at your door?

i will say:i don't need the watchtower magazine because i already know what it says: since i'm an apostate, wicked slave class worldly person and don't beleive the new light from the governing body of the faithful and discrete slave class, i will be buzzard meat at armageddon very soon now, unless there is more new light about it not being as soon as predicted, like so many times before.

I've been out for 4 years and have lived in various different countries, so I know I'm not on a "do not call" list. Not one JW has ever approached me or come to our home. I've passed them in the street more than once, and they haven't said a word to me, not even "hello."
If they do come, I'll play dumb and ask them if they're the group that believes Jesus came in 1914. Then I'll ask how they arrived at that date, and then drop them in it by explaining that Jerusalem WASN'T destroyed in 607. (If they can even explain how they get to 1914; most JWs I knew couldn't remember.) -

Uh oh, we got caught

i learned tonight, from my source, that someon saw our christmas tree and reported it to the elders.. rats, our days of anonymity are likely almost over.
starting tuesday, the local congregation has the circuit and the district overseer, before their ca next weekend.

If they want to meet with you at your house, let them. But don't let them bully you into meeting them before Christmas. :D Just say, "Sorry, that time isn't convenient for me." Don't give them any info or any ammo. Then let them come over after Christmas and say, "Do you see any Christmas tree?" It'll annoy the hell out of them, coz they won't be able to prove anything. Hee-hee! (Of course, they'll probably start stalking you.)
