Playing "Happy" by Pharrell Williams, line dance moves that include that old 60s dance move called "the jerk" and all this done on the platform at a Kingdom Hall?
Obviously the standards are relaxing fast.
bibl3thumper has posted a youtube of the celebrations that took place for german delegates.

it's hard to believe that they are now using the kingdom hall to sing pop songs and for dancing.

does anyone know what was said at the recent ras about jws owning pets?
was it discouraged strongly?
hopefully jw pet owners will tell the organization to f-off!
Its a far cry from animals being created for man and Adam being told to name them and care for them.
It also makes one wonder why all the care to take animals in the ark?
So is the Bible "unbalanced"?
Where is this current stand coming from?
i did a behind the scenes & launch party shoot for british fashion designer elizabeth emanuel's new luxury women's blouse collection a couple of days ago.
for those that are not familiar with her she is the 'emanuel' that designed probably the most famous wedding dress in history for the late princess diana.
she is a wonderful sweet lady and i do all her events and fashion shows.
wow Dis Member, you are living my dream. I love photography (I do amateur only - maybe someday!)
your pictures are soulful and classy.
when i found out "ttat" i felt like muhammad ali when joe frazer knocked him down in their first fight in the 15th round.
the ref came over grab my gloves and looked me in the eyes and asked me "are you ok, can you continue" and then gave me the standing 8 count.
no it didn't knock me out but it staggered me.
Your story is well told and touchingly honest.
Thank you for being willing to share it.
do you believe it exists?.
when you get "a hunch", do you ignore or listen to it?
?.
The idea of a 6th sense is probably akin to that of a person possessed of extra keen eyesight or a natural born Pavarotti. Or maybe a super taster (yes they exist) or a super sniffer.
It is possible that people not born with one of those abilities would doubt them. So is it possible that a person born with a high level of intuition would find it difficult to "prove" how that works?
Proving such a thing especially to ones who have developed other parts of their own brain to be strong and efficient would probably be daunting.
in the words of Bertrand Russell:
The world is full of magical things patiently waiting for our wits to grow sharper.
do you believe it exists?.

?.
Oh....your question...
when I listen to it Im glad/ when I dont I wish I had!

If anyone tells you they dont believe in a "6th sense" (which is just a term really) ask them if they have ever sat in a restaurant and suddenly looked across the crowded room directly at a person who was sitting there staring at them who hastily turned away?
What was that exactly?
How did they know to look precisely at the person who was staring at them and not one of the many other people in that crowded environment?
This phenomenon is common enough that most people have experienced something similar.
i lurked for 2 years on this site before i joined in july 2013. what a roller coaster ride it has been.. first of all, i was a very active jw for those unfamilar with my story having been a longtime elder(21 years), regular pioneer (14 years), convention & assembly speaker, etc.
i am still an active witness because i am older now, with close to 40 years in the borg with some longtime friends.
boy how i have changed!
I sit at the meetings and say things to myself like "You are kidding me, the kid is 10 years old and you still don't know his name"? Or that sister has been coming here for 20 years and you forget her name? Where is the personal interest? Or the Brothers tell you on Sunday that our mid-week meeting has been changed to Monday(tommarrow), because the other congregation is having the CO visit ( they have known for months, but forgot to announce it), then wonder on Monday why meeting attendance is at 50%. Why after all these years, the same Brothers who do the scheduling, many time wait to the last moment to put a schedule causing fustration and problems for the rank and file. Just a few of the things that get me down.
It sounds like you are one of the good ones James. More and more of your type of elder are being replaced by company men. Men who are just carrying out the position and who dont have their heart in the game. Sad really.
My experience with elders like you enriched my life at the time. My experience with the "new" kind of elder has ended my allegiance to this earthly organization.
Its not at all lke a "chariot moving forward at a fast pace or any kind of "light" growing brighter. Instead it is much more like a behemoth (just to keep the Watchtower theme going) trampling all that it is supposed to tend.
incredible.
absolutely incredible.
so i asked, " isn't it 100 years since 1914 ?
I agree 100% on that statement "shse cant unhear it"
I think it is a given that she will repeat every word you said.
Really good job - especially for a tired person trying to take a nap!

LOL designs, good one~
James Jackson, your story is very similar to mine other than I am a woman married to an elder instead of being an elder.
That is a curious thing you mentioned about your speech habits changing.
I have noticed the same thing! I was never exposed much to "colorful" language growing up and so I cant use that as a reason. So what is that all about? Curious!
Thanks for posting your analysis of your first year. It was helpful to read.
