I also heard that some K.H.s are going to arrange "viewings" at the Hall for those that missed.
Have no idea if any of this is true - its just what was said to me.
....... then why wouldn't the wtbt$ easily make the entire program, complete with rockstar gb's, cheesy dramas, etc, available on youtube or some other free or almost free web streaming service?
obviously it is a huge burden for a majority of the "friends" to attend a regional convention and many either cannot go or it takes all of our their funds (or borrowed funds) to be able to make it.
how about all the "friends" that are morbidly obese, infirm, have extreme health conditions, have unbelieving mates, or have mental issues which prevent them from attending a convention?

my mentally in jw wife is trying to organize a "princess party" for my 4 year old daughter and her little cousins and friends.
she was looking at prices of a tent for the backyard party in case it rains.
she asked the hardware store how much and they said 90 dollars for the day.
Obviously I unwittingly touched a nerve.
My apologies.

So AnneB....Im curious,
if they go over to the grandparents to visit and the child asks for a drink, should the grandparents charge the going rate?

I heard that there was a code that could be used to view parts of the R.C.
Supposedly you get the code from your COBE if you are deemed unable to attend for health reasons.

BU2B, Just make sure that if you throw their "anniversary party" that you bill your in laws. After all, you will be functioning as a party planner, caterer and clean up crew.
okay, let's do a big what-if: suppose the gb for its own unfathomable reasons suddenly got new light (tm) and decided to start appointing women elders and ministerial servants.
they would, of course, refer to the examples of junia (apostle), and priscilla and phoebe (deaconesses in wordlyspeak) in the greek scriptures; never mind what mental somersaults it would take to get them there.
stranger things have happened in wt history.. that being the case, would having women in positions of real authority make any significant difference in the congos or in the borg as a whole, and why or why not?.
Well I came here to post my thoughts only to find Mum said it all much better than I would have!
I too think that younger people would stand a better chance with women elders.
Ever watch a stallion in a herd of horses driving the young males out? I have seen old male elders act the same way. They like the brown noser young "yes" men but they do NOT like the strong intelligent questioning young men. They needle them and put them down and IF they get a chance they get rid of them.
there is life outside the organisation, which i have the pleasure to have experienced, since december.
i went to a lovely church wedding saturday, followed by a reception.
hic!!.
LisaRose, you are bringing up an interesting idea for me. The thought of a church as a social structure and not just as a religious authority.
comments?.

making the rounds on facebook is a snapshot of some jws holding a huge banner from the upper deck at a convention.
it says, "jehovah's kingdom" and underneath a crudely drawn download 'bar' with the number 99% on the right side, as if to say in computer lingo, jah's day is almost here.
behind are other dubs holding up smaller placards, but i can't remember what they said.. is this a wt sanctioned or approved action?
Or a "We Were Right After All" banner.
I think when something lines up with good. When something has universal harmony.
That is truth.
