  hello, everyone.. i feel like i was in a coma for the past five years and just woke up.

  after seeing some videos posted on here showing clips from jw.org, i went there the see all the new bells and whistles they now have on their site.

  Splane and Morris Should Thank Raymond Franz, Their Organizational Father

  the whole elder body teaching and governing body teaching was based on research by a well known "apostate" raymond franz.

  franz wrote the aid book articles which gave rise to the changes made in the congregations and bethel.

  knorr was deposed by the johnny come lately new governing body members who in turn gave birth to those in charge today.

  Well, they got rid of the AID book by copy/pasting the best parts and adding a "so then" and a "therefore we see" in a few places and calling it the Insight book.

  Thus enabling themselves to think they can still have talent in their writing department but we know better....

  Never apologize for speaking your truth, especially when when the totally apparent bitch-slaps you in the face and a purse falls out of a man's mouth. There were so many times in the Kingdom Hall I would see elders walk up to the platform to give a talk and my insides were just screaming to call out: "Mary! Has your wife seen how you walk?"

  You sound like such an awesome person!

  Convention Before Op

  my mum today was told that she urgently needs a pacemaker.

  the doctor said he would push this through as quickly as possible.. my mum was more concerned about it clashing with her convention!

  she told me she would rather leave the op till after the convention even though the doctor said it was urgent.

  sigh...that has to drive you crazy!

  For a lot of the older JW women that is the highlight of their year socially and spiritually and its hard to budge them.

  When does the Dr suggest and when is the assembly? The two times may line up ok?

  I read that article above and I have to wonder - what is their point really?

  The euphoric feeling that Mark and Claire are expressing are experienced by many others who do some kind of social service, a soup kitchen, a mission to Costa Rica, etc.

  The Catholics, the Mormons and now even other mainstream churches are starting missions and sending their young people so they can have a transformational experience helping people.

  None of them have the "truth" and yet they still feel exactly the same way.

  The people reading this magazine are mostly not in a position to drop their families and lives to run "rely on Jah".

  So all I can conclude is this type of article is to be read while sipping your latte and make you feel guilty and then relieve that guilt by showing up for an obligatory 2 hours of service on Saturday...or Hall cleaining....or both.

  And definitely its designed to make you drop more money in the "contribution" box so that Mark and Claire can keep having good feelings that you "helped" with.

  Everybody gets something!

  Mark and Claire stay do gooders with the resultant euphoria that comes with it, Starbucks gets to keep its latte sipping Watchtower reading customers and the Org gets $$$.
