She is completely right.
However, JWs would dismiss her words as "emotional".
i just watched this lovely lady's heartfelt message to the governing body.
i hope that the men she named and all lurkers who have some clout at bethel listen to this message and stop this cruel and divisive shunning policy that has ruined so many family's around the world.
this is just one voice of many many people who feel this way about your (governing body) destructive policy.
She is completely right.
However, JWs would dismiss her words as "emotional".
i remember when i first came on this site back in 2007 many of the threads talk about after you leave a cult you need to find your authentic personality.
i have found this takes a lot of effort.
i found this article from the huffington post under healthy living date 7-29-2014.
I am working on it and think I am doing better now that I am away from being told how to think by the pages of the -Watchtower- .
Number 3 is a challenge because I have so much family still in and I constantly am trying to balance honesty with tact and patience.
Very hard to find that balance!
i often wonder if the current crop of witnesses, especially the youth and younger ones simply don't care about facts?.
i mean for some, even with knowledge of the past scandals, misleading teachings, mistruths, etc etc, they simply don't care.
"it is the truth after all".. they are so intertwined in the operations and activities of the society, that they cant see anything outside of it.
If you are an "in" JW, it is much easier to ignore the facts than to face taking action about them.
One look at the extended family members who would be crushed by upsetting the status quo is about all it takes to keep the average person compliant.
when i was in , i went on many vacations, ate out at restaurants a lot and drank alcohol.
loved music and dancing too.... do jws do anything but watch watchtower videos now?
?.
In my area the JWs make a "get together" (party) out of anything...
someone leaving for a privilege of service? Party
Someone coming home from the same? Party
Time to study Watchtower as a group before the meeting? Drag out the chips and dip!
On and on it goes. The "party" is usually in someones home or yard because there is no money when you are a JW, if youve done it the way you're supposed to.
The food is predictable, the mood is also. "Arent we glad we are the happiest people on earth? No one gets together and has as much fun as we do!"
The drink is soft drinks and maybe beer if youre lucky. The mental drink is of course ...kool aid
hey guys,.
i'm glad we're all on here because we're all united in our realization and acceptance about the truth about the watchtower society.. i'm going to share my thoughts about the wts because i feel like this needs to go out there, if not just for the personal satisfaction of getting this out of my system.
so here it comes, and if you all have some indignation about the wts to get off your system, please share them by posting as well!.
Just yesterday I was reading an old thread here about how the "donation" program came in to being. It is as big a farce as most everything else this religion has come up with.
For some odd reason I dont lament the time I lost to it though. Rather, I just feel extreme gratitude and joy that my eyes are open and I am free to live and think and taste life the way we are all entitled to.
Freedom is a heady, joyous thing and it is ours!
this is the email i have just sent to mr. stewart angus, who has been conducting the questioning of the jw leaders during the australian royal commission dealing with child abuse cases among the jehovah's witnesses, concerning the claims made that a jehovah witness who wishes to walk away from the organization can simply become inactive and avoid being shunned:.
dear mr. angus stewart,
i have followed with interest the videos of the arc regarding the jehovah's witnesses in australia.
Eden One, I loved your letter. It was clear and factual without being emotional. Perfect.
On a personal note, I did not realize the things your son (as well as you and your wife) had to go through at the hands of this organization.
Good for you and your wife for leaving and standing by your son. You are walking in truth in a very real way.
Unlike the "Org" who makes a mockery of the word "truth".

interesting reading.
a few things i learned from reading this that i wasn't aware of when i was a jw:.
Interesting that taking a blood transfusion and "being sorry about it" is grounds for counsel. NOT being sorry is grounds for DF.
If most witnesses knew that, I bet they would take the blood when needed, save their lives and then be appropriately sorry about it when they needed to once the health crisis was over.
i don't recall seeing this come up after the document regarding qcs telecom.. leasing 288 miles of dark fiber is not cheap.
in fact, it borders in the crazy.. http://www.alliedfiber.com/news/press-releases/qcstelecom-signs-20-year-lease-agreement-with-allied-fiber/.
Is this the deal that Haniph Latchman is associated with?
Hi Victory!
Like your name and you keep getting an education and you truly will be victorious.
Very nice to meet you and welcome.
i've been as honest as i can on this forum throughout my time bouncing in and out..and been jumped on for saying anything positive about the "truth" or my experiences at the hall, but it's been a few years now since i have been attending meetings.
i go to the memorial for family reasons and went to the assembly today for the same reason...but one observation i have to make is most of us have all dealt with years of hearing how gawd awful "the world" is and how the only happiness is going to meetings and out in service.
now that is total bs.
