  How Has Turning Athiest/ Agnostic Affected You?

  Well I came here to read expecting all atheists to say its grand!

  And with a couple exceptions, I wasnt disappointed.

  I guess I am looking for a new young tender agnostic/atheistic view point perhaps?

  I want to know what ones process was to get there.

  I know that most Christians doubt at times. Why is it that atheists are so determindly positive? No doubts? Really?

  Upon learning all I have been taught by the JWs was basically wrong - I am suspicious of perky positives of any bent.

  I am catiously moving my way toward agnosticism but I feel very alone in it.

  Will Jehovah's Witnesses eventually become an African religion?

  are there any statistics to show that proportionally the jw's are growing at a greater rate outside of western countries and, in particular, the african continent?.

  if so, anybody's guess ?.....

  1] by what year would the organization be predominantly african in membership?.

  i literally just sat there with my mouth open.

  sometimes the delusional mind of jws takes steroids.. it was during the draw close to jehovah study where they praise the mosaic law and how perfectly wonderful it was.

  you should have seen the almost giddy attitude the conductor had and the comments from the audience.

  You are exactly right.

  If the same "horrors" of the Old Testament were being wrought on ISIS right now, everyone would be cheering.

  Its important to look at things in the context of the time they were being written.

  My best friend died yesterday

  sometimes people make special connections to animals.

  sometimes they bond very deeply and are real friends.

  yesterday was the end of such a friendship that lasted ten wonderful years.

  i finally registered on here after reading on the forum for almost two years on and off (more often the last year).

  to give you some background on who i am i can say that i'm a girl in my late teens and live in western europe.

  my mom is a jw and my dad is not.

  I agree with humbled, you sound amazing.

  I grew up with a baptized mother and unbelieving father and my greatest wish is that I had pursued my education instead of listening to the Witneses.

  I did later in life persue my education but look at all the time I lost!

  Good for you for having the courage of your heart now.

  1 - still think it's the truth ...came to this site cause danger is your middle name.. 2 - concerned, smoething's amiss but still believe.

  3 - 98% sure it's bs, but still go for / with family.

  4 - anger / denial, inactive with minimal attendance (ie memorial, spec talk etc).

  ...as we were enjoying our weekly sunday "no meetings margaritas.. my friend and i have been meeting for lunch and margaritas ( okay mostly margaritas, we throw lunch in so we dont feel like alcoholics lol ??).

  instead of going to meetings.. ( we discovered we could have lunch*margaritas* without the meeting first.).

  my jw lady friend still goes out "in service" and stays in touch with her "service buddies" who also know me.. so she was telling me that they asked about me and mentioned that they would like to stop by to see me.
