  I am not a good one for getting my point across. I always find I could have said things better.

  I write from my feelings and have typos and words that arent speeled correctly (see how I did that? LOL)

  I hope that those who are trying to read my words and understand will be "big" enough in spirit to overlook such petty things.

  As for reading the posts of others, I try to read them with the eyes of my heart, not my Americanized grammer rules.

  I cant download it to read but what I was hoping was that this was furthur information on the members of the writing committee that supposedly walked out.

  Is This ALL the Society Meant By Big Stuff Coming?

  ok, internet tv, some new songs and updates on a couple obscure prophecies no one cares about.... .

  i for one was so disappointed at the smallness of it.

  i guess i bought the hype that when they said "big", they meant it.. .

  I for one will wait and see how this ties in to making more money.

  I am still thinking about the thread we had recently of a brother that sold his invention to the Society. Didnt it have something to do with telecommunication?

  saturday mornings: sparlock cartoon.

  friday evenings: reality show featuring jw dating.

  Hi All for show,

  Well lets see...where to begin?

  You are held to a higher standard. If your husband is an elder you will be used as an example good or bad.

  Here is an example: "Why cant I see that movie sister so-and-so did and SHES an elders wife."

  People who dont really like you will befriend you if they think it can get them or their husband a "leg up".

  It is very similar (I would imagine) to being a political wife.

  Sad isnt it that it would be that way in "the house of God"?

  You have to be very discreet and learn to quietly walk away when someone approaches your husband in an agitated state saying "I need to talk to you"!

  Same thing when they show up at the door of your house obviously distressed. You may think "there goes dinner" but you dont say it.

  You learn to drive your own car to meetings so you are not stranded at the Hall for endless amounts of time with your husband in the library.

  You try to understand why someone who formerly seemed fine now glares at you when they see you (how were you supposed to know your husband is their committee when you didnt even know there was one?

  Then there are the other elders who decide for whatever reason to do some in fighting amongst themselves....most will not keep it among the elders but will let it affect how they treat the wives and even the children of their fellow elders.

  Speaking of children, your children are simultaneously admired/objects of jealousy/ held to a higher standard.

  If you have a son and he receives an appointment he better be TWICE as qualified or the rumors of nepotism will flow...

  Your children and you yourself will spend endless hours/nights alone while your husband is helping others or attending meetings.

  Peoples problems in the truth are severe. Many times your husband will come home super stressed but unable to talk to you about it.

  That is just a short list.

  I was an elders wife beginning in my 20's.

  I didnt get to grow in to it, I married an already existing elder who had been a full time pioneer and appointed elder at 26. He was already an elder for 10 years before we met.

  It was the hardest role I ever took on.

  minimus that is really young.

  You must have a lot of presence that they wanted to tap in to.

  I feel for you. So much pressure while you were so young.

  Being a lowly woman I didnt have to worry about being appointed to much.

  Being the wife of an elder, I did hand out sympathy cards to the wives of new elders.

  We always had a good laugh over it. Some had an idea what they were in for - others not so much.

  i've seen this part of the agm folded in with other topics and poked around, but no really critical discussion of the implications.. .

  the hermenuetics of the type/anti-type practice was a big deal to me in realizing the tatt.

  i searched high and low for a rational basis for concluding that god was communicating in a type/anti-type format that wasn't special pleading and circular.

  It makes sense that they would slide something with huge long term implications in amongst other more flashy things.

  So IF this is all there is in the way of "BIG" then I have to wonder how this ties in with making money.

  Keeping numbers up and making money....those are the two primary goals, right?
