How do you prove the watchtower organisation is not genuine using recent evidence?

when i was a jobo, i would say that anything in jobo history, eg.

miracle wheat, beth sarim et al (old light), wasn't worth considering as evidence that the wbt$ was a weirdo cult.. i think that's probably the jobo mindset now.. what would you show them from very recent lies teachings to encourage them to consider the possibility the wbt$ is a scam?.

Okay, for those of us unfamiliar, what is the Australian Royal Commission and why is it relevant here? I've seen the ARC mentioned in another thread here. Lay it on me.

Heres a couple little "trailers" "tidbits" or "spoilers" for you!

As mentioned above, Governing Body member Jackson upon being asked if he thought JWs were Gods representatives on earth replied that "to think that would be presumptuous"

even though we all know they DO think that and it is in print.

Also the Society lawyer (was his name Crooke or something similar?) when asked about Theocratic warfare was deliberately obtuse about even knowing that term LOL.

A term originated by the Org!

My personal favorite was when G. Jackson called JW leadership "the guardians of the doctrine"

A quick google search reveals that was said much earlier by someone else very prominent.

Who, you may ask?

The Pope.

It gets worse...MUCH worse (or better if you are looking for inaccuracies, sleeze and dirt perpetrated by JW leadership) if you take the time to watch the videos or read the transcripts.

I think the recent blood transfusion policy change in the elders handbook is significant.

As baby boomers age and since most JWs are older anyway (the young people leave) the chances of having surgery and medical procedures goes up. Imagine their (the publishers) surprise to find the Org has quietly moved (shifted may be a better word) the taking of blood out of the automatic disfellowshipping category.

I think they are hoping the bloodless surgery movement will take away any need to "change" their policy. Meanwhile, they are quietly changing it right and left.

In addition to the above, they have a form (it originated in Canada in a meeting between a hospital ethics committee and the Canadian branch of JWs and is now used in the U.S. also - the liaison committees provide it to parents on a case by case basis at THEIR discretion) for parents to sign allowing children to have blood without any resistance from the parents or "judgement" (involvement) of the Org or "worldly authorities.

And of course we all know the huge leaps they have allowed in vaccines, organ transplants, fractions and blood substitutes.

The common response is "why havent I heard all this???" Mostly because JWs dont think about the blood issue in any real way unless they need it. The people who discover all the changes in policy are the ones who are researching ahead of a surgery NOT the ones in a bad car wreck or some other emergency situation.

In JW world there is a HUGE disconnect between what is actually known by the publishers and what is actually allowed with no penalty if the publishers only knew of its allowance by the leaders.

REAL Community service now allowed?

at watchtowers website there is an undated article under "helping the community" relating how in 2015, jw's from russia participated in the 'springtime beautification of the city'.

it is not stated but more than likely this had to do with preparations for some assembly or something.

a group of witness going out to clean the community just for goodwill - i don't see it happening.

As far as I understand, JWs in Russia do some perfunctory charity work once per year - typically cleaning some public area like a park or the streets - because they're required by Russian law to do so in order to remain qualified as an approved religion or charity in Russia. So this is not something they're doing voluntarily out of the goodness of their hearts. It's something they're legally obligated to do in Russia.

I wish more countries would do this!

I would get involved in my projects and not study either, so I would grab up my Watchtower very last minute and underline madly and randomly. Being sure to space out the underlining so it looked intentional.

But I am way past all that now.

Looking at the Facebook pages of Marks wife Paddy and the girls (Tylers sisters) it doesnt seem that they are overly "witnessized" and that is putting it mildly - if you get my drift.

I knew this family growing up but not in touch for years. I hope they are out and happy.

most witnesses i knew were exteeemly reluctant to go out in the ministry.

but when they did, they were simply scraping by, eager to avoid conflict and just do their hour or so speaking to lonely old ladies or widowed old men.

placing magazines in a car group, doing route calls, plodding along in the utter boredom of their responsibility to get some time on a report by the last day of the month.. this was never a warning work.

Actually it wasn't for me. I really meant it. Perhaps that's why I don't feel so frustrated that I've totally wasted the first thirty years of my life. At least I lived authentically and when I realised the religion wasn't about love or caring about peoples' survival that helped me to leave.
I'm not the only one who feels this way but sometimes we feel bad admitting we really believed it and tried to help people. We shouldn't feel bad IMO because always living authentically shines a light on bullshit and helps you, eventually, avoid it.

My feelings exactly.

Just because they werent who they purported to be, doesnt mean I wasnt.

I've thought PE has been telling only half the story for a while. I never responded to any of his numerous Nancy Kerrigan whining "Whyyyyyyyyy' OPs previously, because I thought he needs to grow up and accept the situation for what it is.
But this site seeks to infantalize posters and marinade them in victimization.
I don't doubt PE is hurting, but there are a lot of immature, selfish actions and reactions in his words and stated behavior.
I think he is leaving out some key facts. And he needs to start looking at the man in the mirror for much of the reason he is where he is.
If he doesnt he will continue to find himself in similar situations.
You are welcome, enablers, mollycoddlers, victim marinaders and placaters.

I'm kind of over all the Jobo stuff for now. I pop in from time to time. If I'm honest (or even dis-honest), I get terminal constipation from watching all the debates on this forum. All the stances that seem so bloody superior.
