I cannot deny what I have been shown. I have asked this question more resently than I care to admit to myself. So many times in my life, even when things ended up bad, God always got me thru them. For that I cannot deny. I guess I could deny God and rely on my own reliance and understanding but at the end of this life I would like to think my faith in God meant more than believing in nothing at all. Everyone has thier own path to follow. My path may have an imaginary invisible God to some people, but God is very real to me. peaceAll paulnotsaul

Aw, to have the money to own such an estate. Oh well, best I get back to work so I can keep dumping more money into my fixer-uper. By the way I am grateful for. Which brings me to this question. Is the love of money the root of all evil? Or the lack of it? peaceALL paulnotsaul

The former me (JW) like Saul the JeW was a persecutor of Christians. Or in my case, Christendom. Like Saul, I took every opportunity to school or shut down any so-called 'Christians'. It wasn't till on my spiritual journey, like Paul now the Christian, I realized the transformation that took place in my life. I was now a part of what I formally hated. Hence the username: paulnotsaul peaceALL

Saul and the Antichrist
by Joey Jo-Jo insomething that has always bugged me, paul teach about what we should do about the anti-christ, but was not early on the persecution of the early disciples of jesus by saul, who later jesus appeared and spoke to him.. .
isn't paul contradicting himself when jesus clearly spoke to one of the antichrist- saul/paul himself?

Why do Jehovahs Witnesses preach from house to house?
by mankkeli inthis explanation is extracted from the reasoning book, page 205. .
jesus foretold for our day this work: this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.
he also instructed his followers: go .

There are two reasons. 1) The message they bring to your door is so twisted, warped, and unlike anything you would hear in any regular church that they have to go door to door because nobody in their right mind would go to a kingdom hall on their own will to listen to this false prophesying BS. 2) They fear that they will not meet Jehovah's standards for salvation thats why they are working so hard to earn it. Just my 2. peaceALL paulnotsaul

What would you say in reply?
by outsmartthesystem ini am in a discussion about jeremiah the 25th chapter.
(and jehovah "calling to account against the king of babylon and against that nation") my argument is very basic.
how did god call to account against the king of babylon (thus supposedly ending the 70 years of desolation) in 537bc.....2 years after babylon fell?.

I don't know if this is the reply your looking for, but here it goes. In this book I'm reading it says that Russell at the age of eighteen got interested in just when Christ was to come. To solve this problem, he began to study the bible. He very soon published his findings in a pamphlet entitled The Object and Manner of the Lord's Return. For centuries, great minds of the church have wrestled with the problem of the Second Coming, but Russell felt that he had solved it in almost no time at all. Russells pamphlet consists of a lengthy, complicated, and incorrect interpretation of unrelated Scriptures combined with an intricate method of computing time. The end result of his labors was the statement that Jesus Christ would return in 1874. Later,Russell changed the date to 1914. This return was not to be a physical one, but a spiritual one. In other words, when Christ would return, He would not be seen. This of course contradicts Revelation 1: 7. Much of the teaching of the Witnesses revolves around Russell's views of the Second Coming. So since Russell was wrong about this date who's to say he was wright about any dates or societys dates regarding anything in the bible? Further more, direct them to Acts 1:6-7 to see where chronology stands in the bible according to Jesus. Hope this helps. peace paulnotsaul

THANKS blondie!!! The book must of typo'd the 0 instead of the 9. Anyway, if the ORG. published this date than that brings certainty to the 1975 date prophesying the Big A. Why else would they have a following date of a 1000 years if 1975 was not THE date? What a bunch of liars. The fact that books like this were availible means info was out there about this cult. Why weren't people researching this info before becoming a witness? I guess when there preaching the end the fear of loss was to great to resist. Old sales tatic. peaceALL paulnotsaul

Yea, that would make sense. Thats why I wanted to put it out there, to see if somebody seen/heard of this date. This book covered Taze, Judge, and Knorr. It hit alot of topics throughout the years. Mostly on Russell, the ' Miracle Wheat ' scandal. His divorce. And his run in with Baptist pastor Rev. J.J. Ross. wich resulted in Russells perjury, Twice! Lots more. peace paulnotsaul

Hi All. At church today I found this book in the library. Its title ' So What's the Difference? ' by Fritz Ridenour. Its a biblical comparision of christianity with major religions and cults. This book was published about 1966. Anyway, in the 'CULT' section of the book the author talks about the history of JW's. He created this chart in which it shows JW's system of salvation. Under JW's set dates for prophesied events it shows 1914, 1975, and 2075? Next to this date it says: End of 7th 1000-year-day of man's existence. Early autumn, probable time of the close of the millennium, people judged and given eternal life on renewed earth or annihilation. Has anyone ever seen/heard of this date and explanation? Theres so much more of this book I'd like to share. Maybe another time, soon. peaceALL paulnotsaul
