The WT study yesterday went on to condemn brother and sisters that might sell herbal/holistic supplements and other questionable health treatments but yet I always have to remember that Russell (the founding father of this cult) was selling "Miracle Wheat" to gullible fools back in his day and many newspapers and others called him a snake oil salesman for it. I was literally ROTFLMAO! I just kept having pictures of Russell selling this "miracle wheat" alongside WT propaganda on his trolley. Someone who is good in photoshop should make a MEME of Russell standing next to a literature cart with "Miracle Wheat" and "Tight Pants" WT propaganda.

although he was planning to leave willingly, he told me that he can't help but feel a sense of being stabbed in the back by a bunch of self righteous traitors.

he gave tours for years, always telling the visitors "this is the best way of life, i would never change anything here and i'll never regret making this decision to come here.

It is going to be fun watching the pushback from the evil and discreet slave. It might even be the topic of a whole JDub broadcast. as we all know, armageddon was just around the corner in 1974. at the district conventions that year, it was announced that there would be two special meetings during the month of september; one would be for interested people (e.g., bible studies, family members, inactive, etc.

), and the other would be for baptized publishers.

these were to be held in place of the service meetings for the two weeks, iirc.

Just so you guys know DJS is not an ass. He is a really nice guy! I just think he thought this thread was a troll. I am going to contact Gilbeath about her suggestion. I am all ready to help if this is true.

Good idea or bad idea?

first and foremost, thank you so much to so many of you who have reached out to me over the past few days since my post on sunday.

i'm not totally in the best mental state, however, i do have a very small amount of people that i can lean on for support.

i relayed my feelings to a friend (my only friend, really), who took the initiative to inform my family.

Joking aside, talking about money and how this cult works reminded me of something that still haunts me to this day. Before I was Df'd a long time bethel brother/family friend told my father that IF a baptized JDub bought a lottery ticket, let's say the Powerball, and won, they would NOT, I REPEAT NOT DF him IF he promised to donate the money to the society. How did this strange topic come about and how does he know the answer? This exact scenario occurred out in the midwest years ago to an elderly sister who won a big jackpot worth millions. The elders contacted the branch and they responded with that answer. For us, it was a simply topic we were joking about while out in service in the car group for plan B coffee and donuts or whatever, and someone mentioned "hypothetically speaking" that if a JDub won the lottery and it become public knowledge, they would only publicly reprove him if he donated the money to the society. If he refused then a Dfing was guaranteed.

My father told me what he said and although my father was not shaken out of this JDub coma, he was a bit surprised himself and said that I should not repeat this because it might stumble others and reflect badly on Jehovah's Borg... ooopsie I mean ORG.

Looking back, we were all so blinded that even this did not move us to get out as a family. Makes me sick. I guess Jehooobah needs that money!
