Nebraska Man and JWs

has the wt got its facts right about nebraska man?.

i understand from one creationist website that nebraska man is genuine, from other websites that nebraska man was a hoax/fraud but also that when they examined the tooth more recently, they couldn't determinate whether it was a pig tooth or human(the vital part(s) of the tooth which would have said so are damaged).

i humbly suggest the wt check their facts

i've been reading in search of christian freedom this past few days (my hublet and i bought isocf, coc and two of carl jonsson's book--which my hubby love to read).. anyways, i've finished reading the legalism chapter and was kinda amused at the real story behind the change in baptism questions in the 80s.

i was baptized in '77 and my hubby got dunked in '89.. so, i basically can walk away from it all--and get this, i can threaten to sue the elders because i wasn't baptized into the organization.

but my hubby have to da himself because the jw is his ecclesiastical authority.

The Watchtower's Bible Scholars?

witnesses are often told that is is not necessary to look to outside sources such as bible encyclopedias and commentaries because the society's writing department already has these and presents us with the best comments from them for us anyway.

what i have noticed though, is that there are many comments from 19th century commentators and not much in the way of quotes from modern-day bible scholars and their works.. i understand that at the recent kingdom ministry school it was said that the society has the best bible scholars available for our instuction.

if that was said (can anyone confirm?

anyone thought of this idea for disseminating un issue to the rank and file?

in my opinion it would be pretty easy to print up a bunch of one-pagers from one of the websites that put all the info in a concise format, and distribute them at night during the "service meeting" in the kingdom hall parking lot.. what do ya guys/gals think?

Yadirf, I agree nobody has the right to touch anothers personal property,but in your case however the challenge you present overides this.

Last night's meeting

my son had a talk last night, so i had the priviledge of trudging off to another meeting.

the bible section being considered at the present time is isaiah 19-26. much to my surprize, i learned that the society is prefigured in at least two places in these few chapters.

they consider themselves the "watchman" class, as well as the "eliakim" class, with the poor old clergy of christendom relegated to the mere "shebna" class.. this correspondance of the society to virtually everything in the bible is getting sickening already.
