shunning and family members

i have 3 sisters still in the org.

is it still called the "org"?

2 of them maintain no contact, one because i'm an evil apostate, the other is two faced about it(nice on the phone 2x a year, but does not let anyone know about the contact) the 3rd is pretty cool about it, we e-mail alot and i call monthly( all live 1200 miles away).

unfortunatley these experiences are not limited to just jws. but if we all remember that GOD IS LOVE and we can feel his love then we will be able to pass on this love
remember those looks we have all gotten and the backs turned on us and the whispering spoken just loud enough? and vow never to do that to others. ~accept the imperfections~ forgive them~ and treat others as you want to be treated~

Christmas Greeting!

a few years ago i met a women, former jw from queens, ny, she had left the society for various reasons, one of course, was the 'lack of love' within the congregation.. she started her own greetings card company for xjws, called great crowd greetings.. in going through my stuff, [the never ending, some day i'll get this basement cleaned up] i came across a card she sent me during christmas 1996.. on the cover it reads:.

"i bring you glad tidings ...".

on the inside it reads:.

Hey! My son and I were watching a commercial on tv. It was a jewelry store and showed lotsa pretty diamonds and my 5 yr old said "mommy they are so pretty I want you to have for christmas" and of course I said "No son they are to expensive"
His reply? "Thats ok Santa will get it for you:)"
Of course he didnt

i like to go out with my huband and children on days out, among many other things.

I fear we are in it for life! It does get easier and harder in different ways, instead of struggling to put clothes on them, I find myself struggling to remain calm as my daughter explains to me how she just has to wear her red sweater with her pink pants:) because "they are my favorite!"
or listening to my son explain to me the reason he cut the cats hair was"it really was getting long mom, now he doesnt have so much to clean:)"
Sometimes I long for the days when they were younger and only cried that was easier to figure out!

WOW lucky you!!
I just moved to this town about 1 1/2 yrs ago and have lived in 5 different places until I found one I liked and they have come to 3out of those 5!!!!
I thought it was a divine calling and after I hear your stories of no visits in years, I am convinced it is!!
Maybe if I keep preaching to them they will see the light!!

since i found you the other day i was itching to tell my story so here goes:.

raised in jw family dad elder both parents pioneers total of 8 kids .

completly ridiculed in school set apart different unable to make and keep friends because they werent allowed to come over or call and i couldnt go there i learned very young how to be sneaky.

I was about 10 when he was disfellowshiped and dont know for sure but my mother said it was "our" (us kids) fault. He had a very bad temper and hit us often as well as her. I think it had to do with one of us kids telling a friend. Later in life I asked my mom and she said the brothers asked him to step down as an elder and he had a fit and cursed them. He did eventually get reinstated after about a year.But about 5 yrs ago he left my mom and the truth again for good. I have only spoken to him a couple times though and he says he is happier and feels more free than he ever has in his life being out of this organized religion. I think he is and I hope he stays that way he was never meant to be a jw he just followed my mom.

SINCE I FOUND YOU THE OTHER DAY I WAS ITCHING TO TELL MY STORY SO HERE GOES:
RAISED IN JW FAMILY DAD ELDER BOTH PARENTS PIONEERS TOTAL OF 8 KIDS
COMPLETLY RIDICULED IN SCHOOL SET APART DIFFERENT UNABLE TO MAKE AND KEEP FRIENDS BECAUSE THEY WERENT ALLOWED TO COME OVER OR CALL AND I COULDNT GO THERE I LEARNED VERY YOUNG HOW TO BE SNEAKY. WE ATTENDED SEVERAL HALLS IN THE SURROUNDING AREA AND ALWAYS HIGH TAILED IT WHEN THEY STARTED TO FIGURE US OUT
SO NEEDLESS TO SAY THIS TAUGHT ME WHEN THE GOING GETS TUFF UP AND RUN:)
EVENTUALLY MY DAD WAS DISFELLOWSHIPPED AND MOM SAID IT WAS OUR FAULT BUT I DISTINCLY REMEMBER THE DAY HE WAS WE WERE ALL IN THE FRONT OF THE HALL PLAYING WITH THE OTHER ELDERS KIDS THERE WAS LOTS OF US PROB 20 OR MORE DAD WAS IN COMITEE WHEN WE HEARD LOUD BANG AND DAD SCREAMED "F*** ALL OF YOU"
THAT WAS THE LAST TIME I SAW THOSE KIDS WE WERE ON TO A KNEW HALL:)
WELL MY PARENTS STILL DRAGGED US BACK AND FORTH THIS TIME OVER 1 1/2 HOURS ONE WAY TO NEW ONE
THEY BOTH ATTENDED COLLEGE AT THIS TIME TO FURTHER THEIR CARREER AND WE WERE LEFT WITH ALOT MORE FREEDOM AND STARTED DOING AWFUL EVIL THINGS LIKE HAVING FRIENDS OUTSIDE OF JWS THEN I REALIZED THE "WORLD" IS NOT AN AWFUL PLACE AND THESE PEOPLE ARE REALLY GOOOOD PEOPLE WITH GOOD HEARTS I COULDNT FATHOM IN MY LITTLE BRAIN WHY GOD WOULD DESTROY THEM STILL CANT FIGURE THAT ONE OUT!!
THE ONLY SCRIPTURE IN THE BIBLE THAT SCREAMS AT ME IS "GOD IS LOVE"
IF YOU UNDERSTAND THAT THEN EVERYTHING ELSE FALLS INTO PLACE BUT NOT WITH JW'S THEY ARE SO CONTRADICTING EVEN A YOUNG CHILD CAN FIGURE IT OUT WHEN I WOULD ASK MY MOM VERY SERIOUS QUESTIONS ABOUT DOCTRINE I WAS ALWAYS TOLD I NEEDED TO GO PRAY BECAUSE I DIDNT HAVE ANY FAITH.THEY WERE NEVER ANSWERED
EVENTUALLY MY DAD WAS REINSTATED AND WE ALL KEPT GOING TO MEETINGS LIKE A GOOD FAMILY. BUT THE SEED WAS PLANTED INOUR LIVES AND HYPOCRISY SO RAMPANT IN OUR HOUSE I DESPISE IT NOW I CAN TELL YOU WITHIN 10 MIN OF TALKING TO SOMEONE IF THEY ARE A HYPOCRITE
ONE BY ONE OUR FAMILY CRUMBLED.
I WAS BAPTIZED FOR ALL THE WRONG REASONS AND ONE DAY JUST LEFT OF COURSE I WAS BLACKBALLED BY MY FAMILY AND FORMER FRIENDS BUT NEVER DISFELLOWSHIPPED I WONDER WHAT THEY HAVE ME DOWN AT ON MY PUBLISHER CARD:)
SORRY THIS IS GETTING WINDED BUT I WILL TELL YOU I WAS THINKING ABOUT STUDYING AGAIN WHEN I GOT THE NEWS THAT MY SISTER THE PERFECT ONE THE ONLY REAL ACTIVE WITNESS BESIDE MY MOM WAS GOING TO BE DISFELLOWSHIPPED!!!!!!!!!! WHAT COULD MY PERFECT PIONEER SISTER DONE? WELL FOR YEARS NOW YES YEARS SHE HAS BEEN LIVING A DOUBLE LIFE WITH DRUNKENESS AND PREMARITAL SEX NOW SHE WAS PREGNANT!! MY MOTHER RAN TO THE RESCUE AND POOR GIRL IS NOW REINSTATED AND BACK IN GOOD STANDING AFTER LESS THAN 6MONTHS.
THIS IS THE HYPOCRACY THAT I HATE AND CAN NOT UNDERSTAND HOW PEOPLE IN THIS RELIGION CAN REALLY UNDERSTAND THE SCRIPTURE"GOD IS LOVE"
I DO AND LIVE MY LIFE BY IT I AM NOT EVIL TO ANYONE OR LOOK DOWN ON OTHERS NOR AM I HAUGHTY OF MYSELF NOR DO I LIE OR CHEAT OR TRY TO DECIEVE PEOPLE I LOVE GOD I KNOW GOD IS LOVE AND LIVE MY LIFE BY THIS
I CURRENTLY AM NOT ATTENDING CHURCH BUT I HAVE GOD IN MY HEART AND "BY MY FRUITS" YOU CAN TELL THAT I AM A GOOD PERSON

SHORT AND SWEET OF IT:
THE JW LIFE TAUGHT ME MANY THINGS NON OF WHICH I WILL PASS ON TO MY CHILDREN AND NONE THAT I HAVE ADOPTED!!

hello, i was reading judical com.

was really suprise to find out how some of jw's feel.

some have, like the single mom, have such a negative experience with them.

HEY I AM NEW HERE WONT GET INTO ALL THE GORY DETAILS NOW BUT HAVE BEEN BEFORE COMMITTEE SEVERAL TIMES NEVER ANY ACTION TAKEN. I HONESTLY FEEL LONG BLONDE HAIR BATTING BEAUTIFUL EYES AND CRYING, AND HOW LOW YOUR BLOUSE IS, AND THE RELATIONSHIP YOU HAVE WITH THE "BROTHERS" HAS A LOT TO DO WITH THE OUTCOME. I FEEL AND HAVE ALWAYS FELT IF THERE IS A PROBLEM IN CONGREGATION THE ELDERS SHOULD NOT BE INVOLVED. THE "EVILDOER" SHOULD BE PUT BEFORE A GROUP THEY ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THIS. CUTS BACK ON ANY PREFERENCE DECISIONS. TRUTH BE KNOWN I FEEL THAT MATTERS SHOULD BE SETTLED BETWEEN THE EVILDOER AND GOD AND IT IS UP TO THEM TO DECIDE IF THEY WANT TO CONFESS.
