Maybe they are starting to get it!!
by Mulan inmy jw friend told me there was a part on the service meeting last night, about calling on inactive ones.
we knew that was in the km.
she said the po gave it as a talk, and said there were 15 inactive ones in their territory (we are 2 of them), and that elders had been assigned to call on all of them to encourage them.. but..................he said all those in the congregation can and should call on inactive ones regularly, and truly encourage them.

Reaching 40, whats all that about!
by Brummie innearly everyone i know is 40 yrs old this year, even today a good friend reached the big 40. .
i'm 40 in september (omg) and i dont feel any older than when i was 18. do you?
did you dread it, did you make a fuss?

Brummie, Thanks for your kindness. It was a shock because he was so full of life but I feel most sorry for his young family.
Larc, I`m glad to see you havent lost your sense of humor with age!
I still feel 18 in my mind (even though I might act 12 sometimes!) and as everyone has said, I intend to stay young by having fun!

Did you ever get put on the spot?
by Soledad inby that i mean from the platform at the kingdumb hall?
i remember some study conductors who had the habit of calling on people in the audience that seemed distracted or unprepared--on purpose so as to embarass them.
some were so out of it when the mic was handed to them they had to ask what was the question, why did you call on me i didnt have my hand up, etc.

During the book study, the doddery old elder conducting decided to pull us up on poor FS attendance. I simply, but loudly, said "You speak for yourself". The room went silent and he asked me to explain. I repeated. I was sick of this old fool forever putting people on the spot, I decided to turn the table.

crisis of conscience
by mackey ini am not a jw but a very close friend of mine is.we are so close that i have told her that i want to marry her ( if she leaves the org).
i have researched jw's quite a bit in recent months and have realized this book is probably my only chance at reaching her ( i also have isocf ).
she has reluctantly agreed to read them because she trust's me.
