Part 5: The Beginning of the End
by Amazing inpart 5: the beginning of the end .
note: from this point forward begins not only my final journey out of the jws, but even more bizarre and twisted turns in the road.
i hope you all find this interesting, because to me it only gets more intriguing and weird for the 3 12 years following january 1992... moment of decision: i can point back to the mountain top visit with god, or maybe today i might call it a visit with my higher power, whomever she/he/it might be.

making apostate predictions .
by refiners fire inlate in 1993 i made a prediction to an innactive, but still believing, jw.. the prediction was that the understanding of the "generation" would be changed before the end of 1994 and that it would become a figurative generation.. as it turned out, i was wrong, they changed it in november 1995.. but the witness still rang me up and asked how i could possibly know that 2 years before the org did.
the guys a rotten apostate now.. hehehe.. anyway, last night i did it again to another innactive believer, i predicted that the blood stance will be abandoned, and that child molestation is going to hit the headlines.
the second ones pretty straight forward, a nice little teaser for him to gain confidence in my "prophetic" ability.

Well here goes.....I predict the WBTS will distance themselves from the blood issue in stages, by making more blood fractions a matter of conscience therefore putting less peoples life in danger, but I agree with a previous post that it could be many years before they abandon it for good. That way there will be fewer members left who have lost loved ones to bring law suits against the organisation.
I am not defending the organisation on this issue but I cannot begin to imagine the hurt these people would feel if it was suddenly abandoned now, especially if children are involved who had little choice in the matter.

Part 1: Breaking Ground with Crisis of Conscience
by Amazing inpart 1: breaking ground with crisis of conscience .
while attending the district convention at the cow palace in san francisco, the jw man who had brought me into the religion, told me that ray franz had resigned from the governing body, and several were disfellowshipped from bethel in a major cleaning out of apostates.
i was shocked, and asked why ray franz would resign.

Who Have They Sold Redundant KH's Too?
by Celtic inthe witnesses have obviously sold off lots of stock and fixtures over the years, as they replaced older, redundant technologies with new, including within this, buildings, kingdom halls and such like.. 'bernard' brought up the reminder in a reply post below, quoting his old kingdom hall as being sold to the mormon's.
frankly, this raised my eyebrows.. what else have they sold that we know of to people on the 'outside' that they would normally disagree with?
and how have these fresh funds been used, to what ends, if any specifically?.

I know one that was sold to Bible student Group

Tell Old School Friends That You've Left?
by Englishman insome of the uk national newspapers have been referring to the web-site at http://friendsreunited.co.uk/, where thousands and thousands of brits have been getting back in touch with old school friends.. just out of curiosity i decided to take a peek.
well, i was stunned.
many long-forgotten class-mates had my mind leaping back to the early 60s, particularly when they mentioned the weird nicknames that we had given to our teachers.. the french master, froggy fleuriot, mousy mclaughlan with his rats teeth, bummer burrell well, i will leave that one to your imagination.

I have just been reading some previous threads about Russells Quotes.
It is possible to get hold of reprints of all six of Russells Studies In The Scriptures.
1. The Divine Plan of The Ages
2. The Time is at Hand
3. Thy Kingdon Come
4. The Battle of Armageddon
5. The Atonement Between God And Man
6. The New CreationI believe they are quite easy to get hold of in America most of the Bible Student groups still use them. The latest set I have was brought over from the U.S. by an American friend of a friend. The Address on the front cover is 'Bible students Congregation of New Brunswick. PO Box 144. Edison, N.J.08818-0144, U.S.A.'
I also have a Pastors Russells Sermons and a copy of Tabernacle Shadows Of The Better Sacrifices, a handy little book.
The JWs I have had contact with see these as apostate material and will have nothing to do with them. They have distanced themselves from most of Russells teachings especially cronology and pyramid passages and who is covered by the ransom sacrifice. On the other hand Bible Students belief in Russell verges on idolatory!

What would you think if?
by getingout inif a dud came to your door and said, we no longer shun ex members let's become friends again.
if the wt said the preaching work has ended.. if wt encouraged the members to vote in all elections.
if the blood ban was removed.

If they said the blood ban was removed it would probably be to late to go back, surely that would be the end for the Organisation!!!! thats why they will never do it.

charitable status
by moneypenny inanybody heard about individual congregations being charities in their own right as opposed to wtbts.
so if anyone tries to sue they could only sue the charity they subscribe to and not the society itself?.
i saw something on channel c forum.

Thanks Amazing...another of many questions I have is who is beneficiary of KH deeds? you answered that for me thanks.
I have often wondered how these local congregations raise the cash to build etc. The organisation must be worth a packet in real estate alone.

Question Re The UN and The R & F.
by Englishman inis it common knowledge amongst the jw's about the wt being an ngo that was linked to the united nations?.
or is this information just in the hands of a few elders?
i'm intrigued as to whether this information about the un has begun to trickle through to the r & f yet, and i'm also wondering if publishers will have a ready made answer (other than a library ticket)should they be confronted with this objection during the door to door work.. englishman.. bring on the dancing girls!

It seems some witnesses have limited information and others none at all.
Two came to see me two days ago (both wives of elders) one said she had heard but that an apostate had put the information on the internet after stumbling across it on the UN web page and that the society had now withdrawn, the other looked completely shocked, after gathering herself promptly changed the subject and it wasn't mentioned again.
It seems to me the 'Society' is being unfair in expecting these pioneers to confront people in their homes unprepared, it is inevitable someone somewhere will eventually bring it up.
