what scriptural support is there for believing in second/greater fulfillments of bible prophecy?.
this is a genuine equiry into where the idea of second/greater fulfillments of bible prophecy originated.
does it have definite scriptural support or is it simply an extra-biblical religious device thought up to try to make prophecies appear relevant to the modern age?

in the bible satan is likend to a dragon.
and in reading the revelation book, i can clearly remember images of a big red dragon being cast to earh.
what i want to know, is if there were never any bones or evidence found that dragons existed, how the hell did the people of old know what the bible was talking about if they didnt know what a dragon was?.
The wikipedia article on Dragons describes the following:
The English word “dragon” derives from Greek δρ?κων (drák o n), "dragon, serpent of huge size, water-snake", which probably comes from the verb δρακε?ν (drakeîn) "to see clearly".However, the Greek word used ( δρ?κων drák o n, genitive δρ?κοντο? drákontos) could also mean "snake". Δρ?κων drák o n is a form of the aorist participle active of Greek δ?ρκομαι dérkomai = "I see", derkeîn = "to see", and originally likely meant "that which sees", or "that which flashes or gleams" (perhaps referring to reflective scales). This is the origin of the word "dragon".
A very large snake with large scales that causes a reflecting effect with light is the Greek Dragon. The ‘water-snake’ association with the dragon may have some connection to Leviathan‘s description.
No one is certain where the garden of Eden was located. It could have been at the heart of China. The Euphrates and Tigris rivers could have been named after two of the four Edenic rivers. Can you imagine a Velociraptor talking to Eve?

"Cursed are you above all livestock and all wild animals! You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life."-Genesis 3:14
The dragon, original serpent come from this scripture above. If a snake had limbs it would be a skinny lizard. The Chinese dragons have this kind of look.
A curse to be a limbless creature that is already limbless is not a curse.
governing body member samuel heard talk -are you ready for the finishing line?.
so my witness "friend" plays this talk to show how near armagedon is.
his 18 y.o daughter said "it was scary" well shocking!
“WE'RE the "mentally diseased", remember? Uncle Sam is just fine. If you don't believe me, take his recommendation and read The Book of Mormon... I mean, "Seola"... er, sorry, "Angels and Women".”-agonus (I don't know how you guys quote a previous post text.)
Difference between Seola and the Book of Mormon is that the author of Seola said the story was a fantasy in the appendix section. The error with Angels and Women is the comment in the foreword, where the reviser said he had the opinion that the story was dictated to the author by a fallen angel desiring to return to divine favor. How could it be an automatic writing if they edited out certain details?
They tossed out the detail that Lucifer and Satan were different beings. They tossed out the short black race in the story. They tossed out Nephilim marrying women and having the hope of a resurrection. They tossed out the seven planet system and the destroyed constellation. They tossed out the sinking land detail before the flood. They’ve just about dropped all alternative belief written in Angels and Women.
Sometime after Angels and Women they dropped the belief that angels could be repentant. Recently they dropped the belief that serpents once had limbs before the curse. In the June 1, 1964 Watchtower they said the serpent had limbs-Question from Readers. In the June 15, 2007 Watchtower, Question from Readers-they took it back. The last thing they still believe in from Angels and Women is the fact that angels materialized and took women as wives.
The 1964 Watchtower was right because the Boa and the Python can grow claws near its pelvis, depending on the gene’s activation.
i hung out with a group of jw's the other night for the first time outside going to kingdom hall, and the conversation was seriously limited.
do jw's just not want to talk about anything that regular people with a clue about something in the world get together to talk about, or are they really that boring due to the brainwashing?
it was astonishing.
What are you supposed to talk about after the meeting? The football game, the weather, your return visits?
If I had it my way I'd be throwing out speculation for consideration:
How's the earth going to make grain to the very tops of the mountains with its current state?
With so many being resurrected, will new births be allowed?
Will the dinosaurs come back?
Will the 144,000 be allowed to temporarily materialize in human form during the 1000 year reign?
Is there more to the 'sea is no more' comment in the bible?
The list goes on...
the book, angels and women, published in 1924. .
i will give the information about 'that' aspect of it in a moment.
what i think is more important first though, the 'original' book was called ("seola").
It's a great read Violia. The story is riveting. I know people that couldn't put it down, until they completed it after a few days.

Here's a few interesting passages from Enoch1, chapter LXXIX:
"In the days of sinners the years shall be shortened."
"The moon shall change its laws, and not be seen at its proper period."
"Heaven shall shine more than when illuminated by the orders of light."
What I take from these three passages is that the human life span will be reduced, the moon will be in a different position and the sun will appear brighter after the flood. Are these inspired? Who can say?
Here's a passage from the Haggada-Legends of the Jews by Louis Ginzberg:
"The flood was produced by a union of the male waters, which are above the firmament, and the female waters issuing from the earth. The upper waters rushed through the space left when God removed two stars out of the constellation Pleiades. Afterward, to put a stop to the flood, God had to transfer two stars from the constellation of the Bear to the constellation of the Pleiades. That is why the Bear runs after the Pleiades. She wants her two children back, but they will be restored to her only in the future world."
Removed stars from the heavens sounds just like Seola's lost Wan Planet. Smith probably read the Haggada and added her own flavor to the novel.
Here's one of the sci-fi portions that was taken out of Angels and Women:
"As I look forth into the night, the answer is given. The storm is over; the stars are silently climbing the eastern heavens, but as my eyes sweep inquiringly across the serene vault many familiar objects are wanting. Quenched is one lamp of the Burning Seven, vacant the place of the Wan Planet, and lost forever the bright constellation that madly plunged to outer darkness, sharing the doom of the fallen Star Spirits." -Seola pg.172
The Notes section of Seola has this to say about why she included the Wan Planet in her story:
Note 18...""The Wan Planet felt the shock". Astronomers inform us that a great planet once existed between Mars and Jupiter which was shattered, and that the fragments, called asteroids, are now to be seen in that portion of the solar system."
Astronomers do not hold that view now. They believe the asteroid belt is material from the solar system's formative period that failed to condense into a planet. Maybe they're right or maybe Smith is right? Who can really know? You can speculate until you're blue in the face.
What I take from all this, is that Smith had her nose in all sorts of ancient myths just as the appendix to Seola states. If you piece enough information together you're bound to get something right.
you know, the thing they were talking about in the 2011 dc.
it was about how the "toes" of daniel's image no longer represent all the individual governments that have come around in human history.
and that the anglo-american world power is the last world power we'll see before the end of the system of things.
The image would have foot fungus if it was wearing sneakers. Everybody wore sandals when this statue was imagined. Sandals would have kept the feet dry and kept foot fungus at bay. Maybe the Babylonians also cleaned their bath house floors with chlorine.

Thanks for the reply Wonder Woman,... I mean talesin.
The US is still in bed with the UK. Every television station, every newspaper, every media device in the US was glued to the royal wedding. Now politically in bed I'm not sure. I feel the US and the UK have the same mindset on doing things globally. In the past the sun never set on the British empire. Now the sun never sets on the Empire State.

Relating to new light or new ideas, some common concept of the new world is mentioned by various publishers to me. Over a time span of about five years three different JWs mentioned to me their theory about a future water canopy. None of them were really big speculators but it was funny they were compelled to bring it up. Two instances were in service and one was at a book study.
In all cases I told them I believed them because it was my feeling for a number of years as well. The interesting exchange at book study was in front of the conducting elder and he gave us a funny look as if he disapproved of the speculation. Then the other brother who started the conversation returned fire at his look and said "and it was good, that's what God said in Genesis". The conversation stopped at that.
Anyway, if the the general consensus is the return of the water canopy then why doesn't the FDS publish that thought? I think they need interview all JWs and find out what speculation is running in their minds. Maybe they could publish the common theme mentioned by most of them.
