I'm still a believer but then again I've always been a sucker for fairy tales, myths, and creative fiction.

For those who do not believe in the Bible: Why don't you?
by Chemical Emotions ini don't believe in the bible either, but i'm just curious as to why others don't.
ridiculous misogyny and mass murder by a petty little god are two reasons for me.

When did you first start using the internet? How has it changed your life?
by JimmyPage ini ask this because an article on msn said that the internet is now 20 years old.
i don't really remember it being used much until around 1995.. i didn't have the internet until around 2001.. i had some great experiences with the opposite sex in large part because of the internet.. obviously it changed my life when i started lurking here.. and social network has helped me get back in touch with relatives, schoolmates, former jws, and people i used to work with.. all in all, i love it!.
so when did you start using it, and how has it changed your life?.

1996 then a hiatus from 98-2002 Bethel & no computer years.
Until recently the major impact on my life was banking. Now I owe my freedom to it. I was having doubts due to examining the doctrine for myself. Going on the 'net and finding others to validate my research as well as all the other dirty secrets I learned. PRICELESS

Watchtower falsification of its history
by jwfacts ini received an email with the following information that is worth sharing.. the 2011 yearbook goes to great lengths to elevate the truthfulness of watchtower information in even minor details, and criticise information from other sources.
so it is telling that the 2010 "jehovah's witnesses - faith in action, part 1" has omitted an important element of their history when re-enacting the 1922 cedar point convention.. under the heading "tracing all things with accuracy" the 2011 yearbook states: .
"jesus said that the faithful slave would be discreet in giving the domestics "their food at the proper time.

In regards to the cross & crown not being omitted it gives them an appearance of candidness. Most people don't know it's origin. they figure it's like any other cross. Omitting the flags can be excused as an oversight (which debunks their being thorough) or excuse it by saying the br's used a rented facility if it was up to them there would be no flags. Similar to when a school auditorium is used for the memorial.
That video turned a dim light on for me. That's because I was familiar with the Proclaimers and the JW's in the Divine Purpose books. I say dim because I excused the missing info by saying they don't have time to mention everything. Others who noticed missing info said the same thing. In my experience most JW's that were around to go thru the proclaimers book on the school don't remember much. Today many new ones don't even know about it unless they happen upon it on the cd-rom.
It is horrifying to me to realize the level of deception. Since it's done thru omission the avg JW chalks it up to lack of time or page space. The avg JW's are on a hamster wheel. Most work at unfulfilling jobs, then they have to keep up with a "theocratic schedule" while being human & many have families. There's no time for critical thinking. My husband is still on that wheel. I see how tired he is and how he's just getting by keeping up with it all. Now he has to do it on his own since I've left. For him & most JW's they're either going to put on the brakes and assess it all or continue on being blinded & led to the slaughter.

This is what I posted on the facebook page
In response to the article "Jehovah's Witnesses: A family conversion".
What they don't tell outsiders is what happens to a family when one decides to leave the religion. I recently left because I no longer agreed with many of their teachings. The result is I am labeled an apostate and my friends and my in-laws can no lo nger have anything to do with me. The same would happen within the family featured in the article.then I put up the link to this vid

This is the time of year for these type of articles. It mentions their convention this weekend. It's a glorified convention ad.

It's been a year now... (Yay me.)
by VampireDCLXV ini guess that my one year anniversary here has come.. i've made lots of friends... and perhaps a few enemies.. i've made people laugh... i've pissed people off.... i've made people think... i've made people cringe.... i've moved ahead in some areas of life... still stuck in some others.... i've had a lot of fun... i've had some tense moments and tears.... i've been able to make sense to people... spoke utter nonsense at other times.... to my 'fans' here: thanks for the support and having my back... .
to people who hate my guts: go ahead... take your best shot... .
either way, i win.

Things to inspire JW Youth...We're rooting for you
by discreetslave injehovah's witnesses have the lowest retention rate of any religious tradition.
only 37% of all those who say they were raised as jehovah's witnesses still identify themselves as jehovah's witnesses.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6d2w-enhvdk.

Reaching Your Dream Takes Courage
Courage is admitting that you're afraid and facing that fear directly. It's being strong enough to ask for help and humble enough to accept it.
Courage is standing up for what you believe in without worrying about the opinions of others. It's following your own heart, living your own life, and settling for nothing less than the best for yourself.
Courage is daring to take a first step, a big leap, or a different path. It's attempting to do something that no one has done before and all others thought impossible.
Courage is keeping heart in the face of disappointment and looking at defeat not as an end but as a new beginning. It's believing that things will ultimately get better even as they get worse.
Courage is being responsible for your own actions and admitting your own mistakes without placing blame on others. It's relying not on others for your success, but on your own skills and efforts.
Courage is refusing to quit even when you're intimidated by impossibility. It's choosing a goal, sticking with it, and finding solutions to the problems.
Courage is thinking big, aiming high, and shooting far. It's taking a dream and doing anything, risking everything, and stopping at nothing to it make it a reality.
