if jehovah's witnesses, which number about 7 million right now, are a small subset of the religious world today, what does that make former jw's?

as with any unique group, you have to be one to totally understand, esp if you were neck deep in it at one time.

when i first left, all i wanted to do was say the things i never had a chance to when i was in.

my 8 year old has recently discovered star trek and loves it.

the other night we watched an episode "return of the archons".

whenever someone spoke differently or questioned, it was recognized that they were not one of them or "of the body".

I wish I had paid more attn to things she said as early as 2. Instead her dad & I spent the last 5 years trying to reign in the independent spirit she was born with. For example when she was almost 3 she proudly announced at the dinner table "I'm a goat. I want to be a doctor not a pioneer so I'm a goat and I will die at armageddon because I want to be a doctor." We responded by telling her "the most important thing and what will make her happy is to serve Jehovah and do his will in this system" I'm so glad I woke up before I did any further damage.

Attending an International Assembly.

I haven't heard any news for an international convention. I think the next one isn't until 2013 or 2014 From what I remember applications are usually in the fall. People find out late winter - spring time & as was said all correspondence is thru paperwork.

Whenever someone spoke differently or questioned, it was recognized that they were not one of them or "of the body". After it was over and her dad was out of the room she whispers to me "it reminds me of Jehovah's Witnesses". "Out of the mouth of babes " as we use to say. Now if I can only get her dad to see things this clearly.

The JWs reaction to bible movies not produced by the WTS is crazy!

some of the reactions are funny and sad.

the librarian on the jw news, library, etc.

page has posted a bunch of movies based on bible characters and jws are freaking out!

What's sad is how the JW's excuse the "artistic license" the WT takes with it's dramas. Yet hey are quick to pounce all over any biblically themed movie that goes off script. What can you expect from kool aid drinkers?

Reasoning from the scriptures, is there a plan to release a new version?

i know that the section on last days is no where close to correct anymore with the 'overlapping generation' change, i am sure there are other discrepancies as well with the book.

shouldn't there be a new version of this coming out (or even better for those of us who are trying to find changes a 'change list' like what was done with the 'grand climax' book)?.

Someone commented on one of my youtube videos that they are seeking to rid KH libraries of bound books and only want computers with WT library.
Has onyone else heard this?

Reality setting in for Jehovah's Witnesses?

when my friends and family try to "reason" with me about my decision to leave, i immediatley begin to question the interpretation of the so-called prophecy in the bible, i am getting the following consistent response:.

"it does not matter if the end comes in my lifetime.

i know i am doing god's will.".

I use to say that. I felt my being a JW and being loyal had nothing to do with a date but was because of my doing God's will. Many JW's I know say this. Deep down as each year went by it was hard not to think about the end still not coming and wondering how much longer it would be.
